  1. Aweseome! I gotta confess. I went and saw Enders Game. I was happy to find out that the only writing that Kurtzman and Orci did on the movie was sign a lot of checks. Although the movie wasn't a masterpiece, it didn't make me angry the way that Prometheus or the Transformers movies did.
  2. whoops Beethovens seventh, my bad.
  3. My only other exposure to Zardoz was seeing the review on "Brows Held High." I still can't listen to Beethovens 8th without cringing. It has burned such an image in my brain that I even see it in superhero comics.
  4. I just came across a Spanish dub of "Biggles Adventures in time" called "El Viajero del tiempo" or "the traveller of time."
  5. Will and Hannah sounded strange in this episode. Do they have colds?
  6. Wow! this podcast has taught me three new things. 1. H.G. Wells had a relationship with Sanger. 2. Forgotten Silver is not real. 3. All cats in New England come from Ulthar.
  7. Woah! Now I see why all the fake ones had the Oppenheimer footage.

    DUBS!

    Happy Birthday!
  9. Can't find it there either.
  10. Yesterday, I went to the only comic book store that I am familiar with and saw a Sailor Moon doujinshi. I was ready to buy it until i saw the price was $24.95 (almost $5 over my weekly budget). I told them I was not paying that much for fanfic. Now I feel like a jerk.
  11. So, WIll and Matt are showing me Gravity Falls tonight. This just happened: No context for you. I love the female voices on Gravity falls Kirsten Schaal and Linda Cardellini just seem to be made for their roles.

    Episode 317

I would have never watched The Conjuring if it were not for my girlfriends daughter. We all left the theater surprised that it was as good as it was.
  13. Thank you for posting the episode number where you did mention Iron Sky.
  14. Wow! that is funny. I remember when I first went from private school to public school, and my biggest shock went from seeing only uniforms to people wearing advertisements on their torsos.
  15. So this is what happens whenever I wish really hard for a chronicles of Bruce Wayne. Told much in the style of Young Indiana Jones. Better tone down the wishing.
  16. I do not know what hardcore fairy stories qualify as, but if there ever is a live action version of either fairie stories "Fantastes: A fairie romance" or "At the Back of the North wind" I would weep tears of joy.
  17. Rest in peace, Jerry. http://youtu.be/8Op2o8zFXAI
  18. I never watched wrestling but I found this episode fun to listen to. After getting help on understanding what a "babyface" and "heel" is I noticed a different genre of show that uses the same formula, court tv. Whenever I walk in on my aunt watching "Caso Cerrado" it takes me a second to figure out who is the face and heel. Usually its the lady who is the face, and the heel is a man who is dressed as a gangster. Once in a while, the woman is the heel and is dressed like a stripper or lady of the night. Usually, whoever has more tattoos is the heel. I have heard stories about underprivileged people making poor choices on what to wear at court, but you'd think they would give thought into it if appearing on television, which is most likely being watched by their grandmothers. I mentioned it at the dinner table once. My parents told me that people are just that dumb, but my brother in law told me that my theory makes more sense. Can you recommend any entertaining wrestling matches?
  19. Funny you posted that. Earlier that day I was wondering what Mike, the master, David Sims thinks about the anime fan video. I believe he talked about enjoying it before reviewing "Pyramids of Mars" or setting up his Pertwee Tumblr. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kt3qZYUPi2Y
  20. I believe in the original script of "Gojira" Dr. Serizawa (Dr. Nick Fury) originally was meant to wear all black, only appear at night and live in abandoned houses. I am glad that they decided to tone him down to just an eyepatch. We have enough vampires in movies already. Although I do find that having the Godzilla world be fantastical, makes you care about the damage less. Because you can make an argument claiming that everyone abandoned the city instantly and that with the push of a button the buildings will come back together. Mr. Plinkett once made the Citizen Kane Tommy Wisseau connection. Way to explain the origin of the clapping meme!
  21. I want to share it with you guys a story that spoke to me personally, that doesn't seem to have any impact on others. I would like to know if anyone else had a story that spoke to them like that. My story would be Rappaccini's Daughter by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Considered by many scholars to be one of the earliest SF stories. Rappaccinis daughter follows the story of a medical man Giacomo Rappaccini who has a garden of poison plants. His daughter ,Beatrice, tends the plants and develops a resistance to the poison. However she herself becomes poisonous. I could go on and talk about the man who falls in love with her and the tragedy that he brings, but the beginning is the part that spoke to me. As long as I can remember, I have struggled with mild depression. Psychoanalysis and psychological sessions have pointed to a feeling of guilt. So I felt a connection to Beatrice. When I first read the story I thought she was like Poison Ivy from Batman. But then I realized that Beatrice, unlike Pamela is not a terrorist, she does not want to terrify, or bully people. She stays in her garden because its only there where she does not find herself dangerous. Everyone else just seems to read it and snicker about how flawed early evolution ideas were. What book, or story, had a profound effect on you but seemingly nobody else?
  22. That was actually my first exposure to Godzilla, which was tied with Fantastic four for my favorite show. When the Emmerich movie came out I thought they made a dramatic improvement on the roar. Little did I know that was the actual roar and having Lurch slobber over the microphone was the change. As for Godzuki, everyone denies his existence. My dad watched an episode or two and whenever he sees Minya he calls it Godzillita (Spanish for little godzilla). Godzuki is able to collectively disgust people in a way that not even French Godzilla (aka Mr. Merde) cannot. http://youtu.be/ejkk8I9S878 or even Mr. Merde goes to Paris. http://youtu.be/twcbKbLQUuA
