Of the new watches I've made so far this season, I feel like this was the best one so far! Sooo good!
Okay, I am very happy that I held off on picking the second one for WHXN when I was thinking about it last season. I'd hate for that one to be the first of the two you see.
I just had the hilarious thought that if they do a Multiple Doctor Story for the 70th or 75th anniversary, they should totally have a Parent Trap gag where 10 meets 14.
Do yourself a favor Dave: Whenever you watch Conan The Destroyer, try to go in with no expectations because it is far and away a very different film. I quite enjoy it but I know it can be disappointing if you expect more of the same from the original.
I'm in a film club. It's for the most part pretty great. We have some good film discussion, I get to watch films I would never have looked at. The one exception: Most of them really like Saw and I'm just like... UGH!
I think this also might be when the new episodes start going directly to Disney+ outside of the UK though I have yet to see any confirmation of that anyplace.
I've gotten a lot of terrible films out into the world with Channel 37.
...BUT that's not to say that there are more than a few films I've kept under my belt for a rainy day.
Honestly, the only Macy Grey cameo I didn't like in a film is in Scary Movie 3 but that's because I found the idea of Macy Grey packing heat to be a little laughable.
Season 2 was so good. Really hoping we get a Final 3rd Season in a couple of years.
The Venture Brothers finale film was such a good ending for the series while completely leaving the door open for if they ever do anything else. The way that the series stayed consistently good from the first episode until the very end needs to be studied!
Dogma, Argo, Gone Girl. I would say that, if you're covering a Kevin Smith film, that Chasing Amy might be a better one for a Ben Affleck connection but it has some baggage that y'all might not want to discuss.
Honestly, If Gosling doesn't get a Supporting Actor, America Ferrara Supporting Actress and Margot Robbie a Lead Actress nomination... I won't be surprised but upset nonetheless.
On the Oppenheimer side of things, I would be surprised if Cillian Murphy doesn't get a Best Actor Nomination and maybe RDJ and Emily Blunt for Supporting.
Shakespeare in Love (Like Mike said, it's what won her an Oscar), The Royal Tennenbaums (Possibly her strongest performance), and Country Strong (She literally released a country song for the film.)
Lois is one of my favorite comics characters so this is dream casting. Lois should be witty but also strong. Rachel Brosnahan is going to play her so well!
What I'm going to find funny: It literally comes out the same weekend as the Five Nights at Freddy's movie. Saw is cheap to make but I don't think it has the cultural footprint that Lionsgate thinks it does while FNaF is going to attract a ton of people that played the game young, that watched Let's Plays and streams. I think Saw gets crushed here.
