Call Me Lucky: holy shit. Almost two weeks without seeing a movie. I watched this today to learn more about a comedian who's really great. Directed by Bobcat Goldthwait, this is a story about Barry Crimmins who went from starting the Boston comedy scene (responsible for everyone from Steven Wright to Dana Gould to Patton Oswalt) to becoming the world's most important advocate for the eradication of online child porn circulation. It's a fascinating, beautiful, hilarious and completely devastating film to watch. Highly recommended.

The Telephone Book: a sex comedy about a young girl who receive an obscene phone call and falls in love with the caller, so she sets out to find out who he is. Weird and trippy with an actually kind of transcendent performance by Sarah Kennedy.

Star Wars, The Empire Strikes Back, The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, Return of the Jedi: Watched all six, in that order, over the weekend. In the case of the original trilogy, we watched the Despecialized Editions which looked very lovely. All in all, I'm glad I watched them. Star Wars was my thing the entire way through Jr. High and High School. I've fallen out of it in recent years but I am really looking forward to the new one now. Also, watching them in the order helped me appreciate the prequels more. The narrative flows better.

The Wiz Live: Parts feel like your standard stage show but this is the best of NBC's Live Musicals. Shanice Williams, who played Dorothy, was fucking awesome though. Hopefully she goes far.

Godzilla vs Mothra - The 90s version. Ehh, it was entertaining enough. Bit surprised to see some bits from the original carry over, namely the environmental aspects and Godzilla being defeated. Mothra continues to be unimpressive, I really don't get how she's a classic monster. Battra's a bit cooler though. And yes, the 90s beam wars are in full effect here. Then again I'm not sure how Godzilla could fight two flying monsters otherwise.
