This week, Dread Media has perhaps the most specific theme ever: filmic adaptations of literary horror! First up, Desmond and Duane take the black pill as they reckon with John Dies at the End, the Don Coscarelli film based on the David Wong novel. Then Rich, the Monster Movie Kid gets his shot to protect himself from Cujo, Lewis Teague's adaptation of Stephen King's rabid St. Bernard novel. Then, Chris and Desmond hunker down in The Keep, Michael Mann's crazy adaptation of F. Paul Wilson's novel. Astute listeners will discover that this show almost became a "literary adaptations from 1983" episode, but, alas, there's room for more specific themes... songs: "Camel Holocaust" and "He Never Left" by The Inevitable Backlash, "Rabies Is a Killer" by Agony Bag, "Evil Healing" by Tangerine Dream, and "Book of the Month" by Lovage.
