Molly
If Bender says he thinks it will be worked out, it will be worked out. I trust Bender. He was God once, you know. And he was doing so well until everyone died.
Molly
Cancel the riot! From the Toronto Star: Los Angeles, Calif.-The Star has learned exclusively that the voice cast of Futurama has just signed a new contract with Fox after weeks of intense salary negotiations. As late as last week, the network was threatening to replace the original voices of Matt Groening's cult-hit cartoon, to the point of actually announcing a casting call for voice actors to replace them. The compromise agreement, with the studio paying more and the actors accepting less, comes after the announcement of a 26-episode pick-up here by Comedy Central. Futurama also airs internationally in syndication, has produced four bestselling straight-to-DVD movies (later cut into episodes).
Koete
And a collective "whew" was uttered across the internet.

dc20willsave
Long interview with David X. Cohen over on Newsarama. Big detail is that new episodes will beging airing as early as June of next year. Other than that, a lot of episode details that have been mentioned already. dc20willsave
Teaser trailer Dammit, why isn't it June already!?
Molly
I'm not impressed. I adored old Futurama, but something about this doesn't sit right. The show keeps getting these revivals and I don't care about the "will they or won't they?" with Fry and Leela anymore.
dc20willsave
First 90 seconds animated. Pretty much the same as the animatic but still nice to see.
SuaveStar
I'm not holding my breath for it to be good. But I hope it's more like Benders big score, and less like Benders game.
SuaveStar
I'm not holding my breath for it to be good. But I hope it's more like Benders big score, and less like Benders game. Well, the first two episode were alright, but nothing special.
dc20willsave
I enjoyed them quite a bit. Definitely better than most of the movies and I'm glad that it does feel like the Leela/Fry thing isn't get backpedaled this time.
Stavros
Definitely a step back in the right direction for the show. The half hour format suits if far better.
SuaveStar
The third episode, was alright, but nothing special. Too many shitty references to current things, and reusing an old Simpsons joke do not make a great episode make.
dc20willsave
I on the other hand loved all the jokes about the blind devotion to Apple. Plus, Mom is pretty much one of my favorite characters on the show so major wins for me.
JackFetch
I thought it had some good jokes, but the iPhone stuff went on way too long. I agree it had too many current references. This is supposed to be the future.
SuaveStar
Another ok episode, but it was nothing special.

Stavros
I know Futurama has long been plagued by continuity issues, but they've also deliberately stuck to some quite twisty threads, so this episodes contradiction of the origin of Bender was more than a little strange. Yes, but don't say you didn't have a tear in your eye for the last two minutes. Eh, it felt a bit contrived, nowhere near the classic moments with Fry's nephew or dog. And that's not me being a robot, I shed a tear at the end of Toy Story 3 the second time I saw it.

I'll agree it was contrived, and sort of was forced in, but it was the only part of the episode that got any sort of reaction from me. Garfield
I wondered if I was the only one who got a little misty-eyed with the one about Fry's dog.
Stavros
I wondered if I was the only one who got a little misty-eyed with the one about Fry's dog. Oh god no, Fry's dog and the deal with his brother and the seven leafed clover were the two finest moments in Futurama. Put it this way, nothing in any other animated half hour comedy has affected me like those moments did.
