JackFetch
The official title is now Batman: Arkham City. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced Batman: Arkham City, the official title for the sequel to Batman: Arkham Asylum that was first announced during the Spike TV Video Game Awards late last year. Details are still pretty scarce, but Arkham City will again be developed by Rocksteady Studios, and will naturally be set inside the titular Arkham City -- a "heavily fortified" district in the "heart" of Gotham City, where all the most dangerous criminals are now held. And although it's not mentioned in the press release, Game Informer's sneak peak at their upcoming Arkham City cover feature reveals another exciting new addition: the inclusion of Catwoman in the game. Unfortunately, it'll still be a while before anyone gets their hands on it, as Batman: Arkham City isn't planned for release until fall of 2011 for the PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. http://www.1up.com/news/batman-arkham-city-coming-fall
Guest TFG1Mike
so it's like Arkham has been released into Gothamn? Just going by the title.
Stavros
I'm guessing they're transferring the idea of Arkham across to the Nolanverse asylum in the middle of Gotham itself, which provides a fair load of score for the new game. Stavros
Sweet. Catwoman's the most high profile Batman villain we haven't seen in that series, although I do hope she's a hero/alternate playable character rather than an actual bad guy. Actually I'd quite like to see some heroes come into play at some point in this series. Robin for example, or Nightwing.
dc20willsave
I love that Uncle Sam Two Face in the background.
Molly
Sweet. Catwoman's the most high profile Batman villain we haven't seen in that series. Two-Face. Ra's.
KnightWing
I'd argue that Catwoman is a more well-known character than either of those.
Molly
Ra's, sure. Two-Face, is iffy, since TDK.
KnightWing
Maybe. I think, though, that if you walked up to random people on the street and said either "Catwoman" or "Two-Face," more people would know about Catwoman. They'd all be thinking you were crazy for walking up to a stranger and talking about comic book characters, but still.
ShaunKL
Hmmm... I want Batman to be the only playable character, add more depth to his gameplay. With the addition of Catwoman you could have some really cool building hopping aerobics going on. Also more fear elements please, (ala Batman Begins). KnightWing
New Arkham City screens. Some of the highlights: Crunch. All-new, super-hot Harley. Also notice the blue tint (and improved texture) on the Batsuit. Catwoman! This might be the most disturbing Two-Face we've ever seen. Um... cleavage. Love the expressiveness in this one. Molly
The Two-Face bugs me a little, though. That "still burned" look worked in TDK because he was Two-Face for all of a day or two. I just think he'd have changed clothes at some point.
KnightWing
He doesn't even have a sleeve on his left arm anymore (or any skin, for that matter).
Molly
No, it looks cool, I'm just questioning the practicality.
ShaunKL
Bah, Catwoman gets futzed again, I hated the weird cleavage in MKvsDCU, but I sort of understood it as the other fighters were rather scantily clad. In this it looks really out of place.

In this it looks really out of place. But she's always like that these days. I mean, the modern outfit was modest for a time back when Brubaker was writing it but ever since then most artists have gone to town with the cheesecake again, like they've confused her with Felicia Hardy or something. ShaunKL
Hrm, is it that low in Catwoman (was that discontinued?), she was fully zipped up during BftC and not near as zipped down in what I've read of GCS.
Venneh
...Holy shit that Harley is hot.

It varies depending on the artist but I've seen it both ways plenty, and its no secret which they'd prefer in the game.
