Dread
Holy shit...I didn't realize there was another episode this season. Meg and I will have to watch it this week. I am out of this thread!
Molly
I think the great thing about Stannis is simple: he doesn't actually want to be king. Had Joffery actually been Robert's son, he'd be chasing the rebels all over creation, but letter of the law says, he's king, so he'll do his duty. Kenny Evil
That's what stannis tells himself but I don't think that's necessarily true. I think he really got a taste for power during the second season and the events of blackwater and this year have started to temper that a bit. Stavros
I think he aspires not to the power but to the responsibility, he thinks that no-one else can do the job. He's probably right in ways, he'd be a better king than his brothers or nephews.
Koete
I loved the council scene. Joffrey cutting down Tywin, Tywin sending him to bed, and Tywin and Tyrion's conversation about family. Great stuff. With all the executions Davos has gotten out of, it feels like he exists for George R. R. Martin to toy with the fans before he kills him. The biggest moment in the episode was probably Arya killing for revenge for the first time. Her story is the most interesting to me by this point. Glad Ygritte shot Jon full of arrows, asshole deserved it. The reunion between Cersei and Jaime was well done. No tears, no big emotional embrace. They just look at each other, she looks at his stump of an arm, and a shot of Jaime looking lost. Wondering where Jaime will go from here. As for Dany, it doesn't matter if it was filmed in Morocco. They could have brought in extras to make the crowd more diverse. Someone during the planning stages should have said, "hey guys, this sounds a bit White Savior-ish, maybe we should change it." Molly
I'm not actually watching the season until it hits DVD in 2025, but I just read that passage in Storm of Swords, it's equally eye roll inducing.
JackFetch
I saw white people in the crowd scene. Go back and watch it. They are there.
Dread
The Tywin/Tyrion thing was brilliant. But I liked the Cersei/Tyrion scene better. Also: I saw lots of white people too. I don't care frankly. People in lots of places are culturally similar with different social castes. Who gives a shit who's freeing them? There's lots more bad people that are white in this show than any other race. This is fantasy. The only race that matters is the divide set up within the world it takes place. Pan-dub
We've just powered through the series in the course of a week... Nothing like the power of Hodor to pull you back in after a massive upset.
Pan-dub
My favorite part of the episode is that it did away with the plotline I couldn't give a shit about. It was starting to dwindle but I liked Rob's building momentum and a possible turn of the tide. If there's a storyline I can't give a toss about it's Dani Dragonborn and her love power. Koete
Arrested Westeros.
Molly
My favorite part of the episode is that it did away with the plotline I couldn't give a shit about. It was starting to dwindle but I liked Rob's building momentum and a possible turn of the tide. If there's a storyline I can't give a toss about it's Dani Dragonborn and her love power. Dany sucks, but she's always surrounded by such cool characters, like Khal Drogo, Jorah Mormont and Barristan Selmy, it's kind of a waste. And Viserys! He was almost as much fun as Joffery! Venneh
Also: I would watch a show that is nothing but Ellaria and Oberyn fucking and sassing their way through Westeros. Also also: who was the chick with Ramsay at the beginning of the ep?
JackFetch
I loved that they kept teasing his death before it happened. He would make a funny face and I'b say "here we go", and he'd just say something mean to Tyrion. Also, I was really hoping he would fall face first into the giant pie. Molly
I love how people actually think things in Westeros are looking up now.

Venneh
I honestly wasn't expecting them to do this this soon, I thought this wedding would be the midseason, to be honest.
Dread
I thought that came a little too quickly personally. Though, the whole ceremony was kind of a clinic on tension.
Molly
I know this feels early, but I'd rather they explore the multitude of huge things that come out of this than drag the "________ is a psychotic dick" angle any longer. I honestly think it will be a better use of the show's time.
