Venneh
...what are you doing Marvel
Davedevil
I wonder if this is how they're ending the whole All New X-Men thing.
dc20willsave
Is Marvel redoing all their old stories now? Between that, Secret Wars, and that Civil War image, it just feels like Time Runs Out means we completely ran out of ideas.
Dan
Is Marvel redoing all their old stories now? Between that, Secret Wars, and that Civil War image, it just feels like Time Runs Out means we completely ran out of ideas. I guess they couldn't confine it to the Ultimate universe forever. Venneh
...wait a minute. Could the Time Runs Out event have something to do with the rehash of all the events we seem to be running across from the last few days or so?
Dan
It's been a while since I last heard; is Marvel still reportedly doing a Crisis/reboot soon?
Donomark
Waiting for the One More Day retread then.
KnightWing
Oh no, stop the presses, one of the big two is doing an event that mirrors an older event. Clearly this is worthy of our time and disgust.
Guest
A couple times a year I'll go "you know what, I should get back into superhero comics" and then I click one of these threads and immediately go "nope, nevermind".
dc20willsave
Add Planet Hulk to the list
Molly
This pretty clearly has something to do with the big cross time Crisis thing they're doing. I, for one, think it's a pretty decent idea. Sure beats the current event of "let's flip everyone's character alignments!"
Molly
On that note, does anyone else think that turning Tony Stark into a arrogant, self righteous rock star is a pretty unsubtle "Fuck you" to RDJ for being difficult in contact negotiations?
Dan
I doubt there's zero correlation, but Tony's been an asshole since before the first movie. The exact nature of his arrogant rock-star thing has been solidified by the films, though Also, I can't imagine the people making the comics have a problem with RDJ refusing to take a pay cut mandated by Ike Perlmutter, a man who is frugal to the point of mental illness and has been terrorizing the company since he took it over. No one making the comics has any love for that guy.
Molly
There's a difference between Civil War assholish Tony and the way they're moving him to San Francisco and setting him up as the Steve Jobs celebrity CEO, too. It just feels weird.
Koete
Screw you, man, TonyTunes is going to be HUGE.
Dread
And now, Armor Wars. Bleeding Cool speculated that this could be some sort of weekly series during the summer rehashing all of their big events. It's the only way I find it palatable, anyway. Molly
I don't give a shit, that Galactus Buster armor is awesome.
dc20willsave
And now, House of M is added to the list. Because that's an event I think someone enjoyed. Anyone?
Stavros
I remember liking it.
KnightWing
It was neat.
Molly
House of M was one of those stories that I always thought would have been great as an issue of "Exiles" or "What-If?"
Stavros
That is basically how I treated it. Like a mini series what if with great art.
KnightWing
Yeah, since I read it a few years after it came out, it was nice as a quick altverse story with some good repercussions for the main universe.
Dread
While I thought it was ass, it is apparently popular at libraries. Hence the recurring miniseries that popped up in the years after it was over.
