Guest
Reading a issue of Game Players from 1993. Thought I'd share some interesting quotes. "It's official, Sonic the Hedgehog is just as popular as box-office hero Arnold Schwarzenegger and super-athlete Michael Jordan." "Nintendo of Japan's research and development team are working on the next Zelda adventure. The game will be a two-player simultanieous quest - you won't even play as Link!" "It looks like Sega will delay its VR glasses until June. The company's working on a new 3D chip that will improve the lines of resolution and add a new 3D effect. The equipment should retail for around $200, with games priced at $60." "Johnny Mnemonic, the short story by William Gibson, is now a movie in production starring Val Kilmer." "There is also a Castlevania movie in production." "Although it's still in development, Nintendo and Silicon Graphics promise the Project Reality machine will offer real-time anti-aliased 3D graphics and CD-quality sound... will also be compatible with high- definition TV." "The [sega] Activator is a lot of fun to use, and it really adds a lot to the action, especially in fighting games. If you're good, you've got a special advantage over players using regular controllers." (This is the part where you google the Sega Activator). Toys R Us ad - "Madden 94 for the Sega Genesis, in Store 11/19/93 - $64.99" "Aero the Acrobat gives Mario a run for his money." "World Heroes stands up with the big boys... sends many other games down for the count." "It's unlikely we'll ever see a home version of Super Street Fighter II, as it seems destined to be a purely arcade experience."
James D.
Haha, Aero the Acrobat. Yeah, he would have had a lengthy run at the top of it weren't for that asshole, Mario, and his backstage politicking.
James D.
Although, this makes me want to go back to my stash of old gaming mags and see what kind of opinions were being thrown around back in my elementary school days.
S-T
Reading a issue of Game Players from 1993. It's a bit sad how many adults I know who are younger than that issue. I am an old man. Get off my lawn.

dc20willsave
Hmmm. So either the box art of Final Fight 2 takes place in the same world as Streets of Rage's box art, it's the same artist being lazy, or someone stole assets for their cover. Sounds reasonable. I'm more concerned with how Mayor Hagar is defying gravity by doing a flying kick while muscle posing.
