You Know Who
I'm thinking this could be our next poll. Wouldn't it work better as a poll-based tournament (a la the Douchies)? Lady Kaede (from Ran) Maleficent (from Sleeping Beauty; we'll see if the same holds for the upcoming film) Minerva McGonagall (more badass than Hermione Granger) Jen Yu and Jade Fox (both from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) Lisbeth Salander (at least the Rooney Mara version) Faora Wai Lin (Tomorrow Never Dies) Rosa Klebb (From Russia with Love)
Dread
Geum-Ja Lee (Lady Vengeance) Frigga (Thriller: A Cruel Picture) Asami Yamasaki (Audition) Thana (from Ms .45) Annie Wilks

Pan-dub
Miss Piggy is a bad ass in all the Muppet movies, Great Muppet Caper in particular. Totally. What a brilliant opening number that film has too...

Missy
So, how are we evening it down?I'm thinking I'd like this to be a 64-woman tournament, so we may not need to even it down. However, if we can't get to 64, a 32-woman tournament would be great, too. In that case, I'd compile a list of all the suggestions, send it to certain forum members, and from there we'd have our picks / seeds. dc20willsave
Hayley Stark (Hard Candy) Gale Weathers (Scream) Little Rock (Zombieland) Nikita (La Femme Nikita) Alice (Resident Evil) Nancy/Heather Langencamp (A Nightmare on Elm Street, 3:Dream Warriors, New Nightmare) BTW, good idea keeping it to Cinema because I keep having to tell myself that someone was a TV character. Also, we're over 64 so some leveling of the herd will have to occur.
Rjoyadet
I have noticed nobody put any of the women from Hayo Miyazaki's portfolio in the list. Pre Ghibli works Fujiko (Llupin 3rd: Castle of Cagliostro) She does use the gun, and a grenade. Closest thing to a woman going commando in a Miyazaki film. Nausicaa (Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind) I doubt any other politician would got to such lengths to prevent war. Kushana (Nausicaa of the Valley of Wind) The tiara conceals a blade. Ghibli works Ma Dola (Laputa: Castle in the Sky) Call her Captain! or she will use any of of her array of explosives which she keeps on her at all times. Unnamed Boss's Wife (Laputa: Castle in the Sky) Only needing a frying pan, she is not impressed with sky pirates showing off their strength by making their shirts explode. San and Lady Eboshi (Princess Mononoke) I wish all fights between nature lovers and industrial entrepreneurs went like this. Rin (Spirited Away) She may not Kamehamea a monster in the face (or in the No Face) but she does help the hero in her time of need. Risa/Lisa (Ponyo) May not be violent or carry any weapons but does brave typhoons to make sure the elderly and children are safe. Fio Piccolo (Porco Rosso) Although offering to fix a plane that is trying to escape the Fascist secret police may seem ditzy, she did stand up to pirates and was willing to put the rest of her life on the line for her client. dc20willsave
We are currently at 84 bad ass female characters (with I'm sure any number of others that we'll remember a week into polling). That's pretty awesome there.
