Here are some of the ones I have planned: GI Joe Week: 24 - 30 June This was supposed to align with not only the 30th anniversary of the 1980s toy line and comic books, but also the release of GI Joe: Retaliation. Of course, the movie has been delayed 'til 2013, but that will not stop the shows I have planned. I grew up with those toys, comics, and cartoons, so I very much intend to celebrate said anniversary. The Amazing Spider-Man Week: 01 - 07 July Timed for the release of the new movie, in these episodes I'll cover the first 15 issues of The Amazing Spider-Man, along with Amazing Fantasy #15 and The Amazing Spider-Man Annual #1. This might not happen, however, because it directly follows GI Joe Week and, well, producing 14 shows over 14 days will not be easy. Avengers Week: 23 - 29 September Supposedly, The Avengers DVD will be released on 25 September. If that's the case, I'll use each day to cover an Avengers tie-in movie and some of the comic books the characters first appeared in. Scott Pilgrim Week: 24 - 30 August 2014 Yes, I'm planning that far ahead! The first volume was released in August 2004, so this will celebrate the 10th anniversary of that. I'll discuss all six volumes and then the movie. Terminator Week: 26 October - 01 November 2012 That will be the 30th anniversary of the original Terminator movie, so I'll look at all of the movies, a few episodes of the TV show, and a special treat. Okay, so those are my current plans. What weeklong (RE: seven-day) events would you like to see on The Show? If at all possible, I'd like for them to line up with anniversaries or big release dates, but that doesn't always have to be the case. Monty Python's Flying Circus (creation, impact on comedy, favorite sketches, etc) 2. Specials (The German Episode, The Lost Episode, And Now For Something Completely Different, Live at the Hollywood Bowl) 3. The movies (Holy Grail, Life of Brian, Meaning of Life) 4-7. The spin-offs and solo work you mentioned I have seen all and own most of the programs that would be covered, but have not yet seen Spamalot. I can hold off on reviewing The Amazing Spider-Man for a seperate segment if it helps add content to this week. And hell's yes to a Monty Python week! I'd argue Life of Brian is more deserving of an episode than Meaning of Life, because not only is it a superior film but the amount of controversy generated resulted in one of last year's TV highlights in 'Holy Flying Circus' which (loosely) dramatised the events around the film. It could comprise reviews of, among other things, the recent Holmes movies and Stephen Moffat's Sherlock, and I have some BBC Sherlock Holmes audio-dramas you could use. Maybe something covering the trilogy of books on the first 5 days, then the movie and the 6th book? Something along those lines. Just a suggestion. While I hear the third National Tour may begin soon Monty Python's Spamalot is actually out for stock and amateur theatre as the show ended on Broadway back in '09. So if there is a Spamalot segment we may be able to compare memory of the tour, Broadway, West End and CD to High Schoolers who don't understand the jokes they are being told to say and older gentleman who think they are the Broadway singers on tiny stages. I've encountered a lot of both of these types in my school and community theatre past. Side note: I'm always bitter thinking about that show as I saw it on tour twice but lost my Killer Rabbit Hand Puppet at a Drama Class event we were using it for, after they stopped making them. -Skyler Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm sure there's enough there for a week's worth of material. Another suggestion might be to use the end of October each year as a Halloween week. Just to expand this, now that I'm thinking of it, this could be the place to touch upon, but not completely indepth of course all the Target novels, Big Finish dramas, comic books, gamming cards, toys, the Cushing films, spinoff series, etc that either will not be covered on BOTI, or whatever you chose to be be covered more indepth during the show's hiatus after the catchup. We also could have done ten year retrospectives on the original Spider-man, as well as 30 years since the first Evil Dead and ten since Army of Darkness, if you want to do a Sam Raimi theme. dc20willsave Posted July 12, 2012 Report Share Posted July 12, 2012 Might not be geeky enough but August 23rd, 2014 will be the 75 Anniversary of the premiere of The Wizard of Oz which has been adapted so many different ways while December 21st, 2013 will be the 75th Anniversary of the release of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, the film that pretty much made Disney.
