JackFetch
“[X-Men: Days of Future Past] won’t necessarily create an alternate universe, but there may be some swapping things that I’m playing with,” states Singer, who is directing his third X-Men movie with this year’s sequel. “You won’t feel at the end of the movie that it set up Apocalypse. What it does is it sets up possibilities. But what we’ll discover in Apocalypse is that events in this movie made that happen. Apocalypse deals with ancient mutancy. What would humans have thought mutants were? What would mutants think humans were? You’re dealing with gods and things like that. And what if one survived and what if that found its way into our world?” Singer went on to reveal that James McAvoy (Professor Xavier), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) and Nicholas Hoult (Beast) are all contractually obligated to return (and Hugh Jackman is bound to be in there somewhere, surely?), while he also name dropped Gambit and Nightcrawler as possible additions: “I’m excited because I want to start introducing familiar characters at different ages and also explore the ‘80s.” As it happens, that’s the second time that Singer has mentioned Gambit and Nightcrawler for Apocalypse, so I guess that means they’re going to be back. Of course, it remains to be seen whether Taylor Kitsch will reprise his role as the Cajun card-thrower from X-Men Origins: Wolverine, while Alan Cumming will presumably be too old for a return as a younger version of Nightcrawler. And finally, Kinberg (who is also serving as writer and producer on The Fantastic Four) added that we should expect to see some large scale destruction when X-Men: Apocalypse arrives in 2016: “From a visual standpoint it actually may be a bigger movie than Days of Future Past because there’ll be disaster movie imagery, like the title would imply.” http://www.flickeringmyth.com/2014/04/bryan-singer-and-simon-kinberg-x-men-apocalypse.html

JackFetch
Director Bryan Singer announced on Twitter that Alexandra Shipp will play Storm, Sophie Turner will take on Jean, and Tye Sheridan will star as Cyclops. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/01/23/x-men-apocalypse-casts-young-storm-jean-grey-and-cyclops?utm_campaign=fbposts&utm_source=facebook
CaptainAmerica2011
I have seen Tye Sheridan in both Mud and Joe. He is an unbelievable talent. Glad he is cast as my favorite X-man.

Donomark
"Will star as Cyclops " - good one, Bryan! LOL that's cold. Maybe that'll be remedied in this movie.
dc20willsave
I'm still calling that Scott is going to be Havok's son instead of brother. Regardless, this is interesting cast in and will hopefully lead to a depiction of Storm that's awesome instead of awesomely bad. I hope we get street thief Storm with a Mohawk instead of GODDESS OF THE ELEMENTS STORMS!!!
Stavros
Would have preferred the other rumoured name Saoirse Ronan for Jean. Nothing against Sophie Turner, but she's merely ok in Game of Thrones whereas Ronan has been excellent in everything I've seen her.
Molly
You clearly did not see "The Host", then.
Stavros
I'm not going to blame someone for being terrible in a Stephanie Meyer film!
JackFetch
Saoirse Ronan is a great actress that for some reason can't say no to movies based on young adult books.
slothian
Saoirse Ronan is a great actress that for some reason can't say no to movies based on young adult books. They are quite lucrative, those films based on books for teenagers. Also, it's a guarantee of mainstream name recognition, like what happened with Kristen Stewart and whatsherface from Divergent. dc20willsave
Jennifer Lawrence has said this will be her last one.
JackFetch
Makes sense. It's not like she needs money. She can literally do whatever she wants in Hollywood now.

slothian
She has always said how much she hates the makeup process for these movies too Poor dear. If only there were some other X-Men movies out there featuring Mystique to give her some idea of the make-up job required.... As was said above, she doesn't need the role the way her career's going. At the same time, she's not been very good in the role either.

dc20willsave
I'll be honest, they're doing an X-Men in the 80s, Dazzler would make so much more sense but oh well. I guess I can see Jubilee working though. She is kinda 80s.
KnightWing
If they progress to the 90s in the next movie, we'll already have Cyclops, Jean Grey, Jubilee, Storm, and Beast—we're only a few members away from an X-Men: The Animated Series live-action movie. JackFetch
Jubilee was basically the 90s version of Dazzler. "Hey let's bring Dazzler back. But we need more diversity so let's make her Asian."
JasonC
Don't care, as long as they have Dazzler.
