Missy
Knowing that Hunter was leading them all into the hands of Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar, maybe she didn't tell Lamia to fuck off because a distracted Richard was one less person to deal with when the trap was sprung. Maybe she was actually trying to save him from Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar by allowing him to fall into the Velvet's hands. Keep in mind, when Hunter and Door got ahead of Richard and Lamia, she made no attempt to hurry them up.

Good point. She had seemingly lost de Carabas by good fortune and Richard is not a direct threat to her, even if he did overcome The Ordeal. Maybe she was actually trying to save him from Mr. Croup and Mr. Vandemar by allowing him to fall into the Velvet's hands. Not so good point, as leaving Richard to be sucked of warmth is hardly "saving" him. It's possibly the lesser of two nasty fates, but de Carabas is sufficiently pissed off with Lamia when he attends the scene for it to be implied that the Velvets leave their victims in a pretty nasty state. Mr Mockery
While I see your point Mike to me it seems like a needless extra person. Another random, unpredicable element to be factored into the plan. Having said that at least it's a decent explanation for it because I had nothing. Rjoyadet
I remember talking to a woman in an auditiorium about the Neverwhere show. She kept working her drop spindle and talked about how a person with a rug over their head could be a more convincing beast.
