RSS
The Brothers Wilson tackle arguably the biggest star yet on Hey, an Actor!: Arnold Schwarzenegger. From the gung-ho action epic Commando to the Ivan Reitman comedy Twins and his most acclaimed film Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Ian and Pandy profile the Austrian bodybuilder, actor, and, bizarrely, elected official. In the podcast's longest episode to date, the hosts introduce two debut features: Improv School and The Heather Graham Time-out. Meanwhile, Pandy's mistaking molten metal for magma draws Ian's ire in relation to their family heritage. And on top of all that, the George Banks jingles return! Missy
Ian used a very apt word in regard to Commando. At one point he asked Pandy something akin to "Are you glad you've finally experienced Commando?" Experienced being the word that grabbed my attention. Upon watching Commando, one might love it or hate it, but none can deny that it is a cinematic experience.
Donomark
I remember showing it to my brother a few New Years Eve's ago, and the final fight scene with Bennett had him completely transfixed. He had truly never witnessed anything like it before or since. We're two very different people, but Commando brings us together in a way no other film or holiday ever could. Pan-dub
Speaking of the final fight scene I REALLY hope 'Bennett death quips' becomes a regular feature.
Donomark
I just now found this, apparently Arnold DID have several other quips on hand in cast the STEAM line was too subtle...
Stavros
If you want to see Arnies start in acting, check out Hercules in New York. It's an all time bad movie in which he fights a bear (man in a cheap costume) in Central Park. Because there are bears in Central Park. Also Pumping Iron is a fantastic documentary on his bodybuilding career just as he's about to move into acting.
