Nova makes no sense, cosmic heroes should be above this stuff as Nova proved when Tony asked him to register.

I disagree. The Avengers are always involved in cosmic battles, so it makes a lot of sense to have Nova on the team. Also, they've had cosmic characters on the team before. Off the top of my head, there's been Ms. Marvel, Crystal, Starfox, Moondragon, and Quasar.

Fine if these Avengers are going to be doing cosmic stuff all the time I agree that a space-orientated hero has a place on a team like this. I just don't think Nova fits that bill after everything he's been doing in Marvel's cosmic line these last few years.

Richard Rider is the Nova Prime of an intergalactic space peacekeeping force. Its like if Hal Jordan actually ran the Green Lantern Corps, it would be irresponsible of him to join a covert superhero group based on one planet in his spare time. Whilst Nova is hanging out with Moon Knight there are intergalactic wars between empires going on. Given how he was characterised during Civil War I just don't see him suddenly turning around and saying "actually I do want to sign up to some sort of team".

I'd have gone with Gravity. New hero, formerly cosmically significant, interesting powers. Makes way more sense than Nova.
These no nonsense solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel
