  1. So far I haven't been super impressed but it's still a pretty good show. The final fight was pretty cool. I like all of the relationship dynamics. Yeah, not bad.
  2. I wonder if this is how they're ending the whole All New X-Men thing.
  3. I loled at the Jelly Babies. That was the greatest. My favorite of the season so far. Also a nice reference to Ark in Space with the bubble wrap.
  4. When you get into specifics though there's a lot of Friends in HIMYM. I've only seen the first season of Friends so far and I've gone "hey that's familiar" more often than not.
  5. Just watched A to Z and it was alright. It gets by on Cristin Milioti's effortless charm. Something I've noticed is that a year after Friends ended, HIMYM used the "group of friends in Manhattan" setup, and now the season after HIMYM, here's A to Z with its "finding the One" premise(with some 500 Days of Summer in there) I doubt this show will go all that long though.
  6. I think it was on Fat Man on Batman where Paul Dini said their concepts for Batman Beyond villains were basically "Batman villain but futuristic and different in some way" Inque was Clayface-ish, Venom became a patch, the Joker inspired a whole gang, all that. Granted I haven't watched all of Batman Beyond yet, but I don't think Terry had that good of a rogues gallery.
  7. Godzilla Rulers of the Earth Vol 1 - So much fun but a bit too short and quick. It was nice to see Zilla against Godzilla in a match that didn't last 20 seconds, cause I like Zilla as a monster. Still won't win though, as it should be. The artwork by Matt Frank is probably the best Godzilla art I've seen. I might like his stuff more than Art Adams'.
  8. Along the same lines, the Hulk vs Abomination in Incredible Hulk. A huge part of why I love that movie so much. Now the first post got me thinking of that counts. I mean the military get involved but they don't really assist so much as distract. Hmm.
  9. Orphan Black's the only one that comes to mind, at least for stuff that actually comes from BBCA.
  10. When they start opening up the universe with more DC/Vertigo characters, I'd like to see them bring in Madame Xanadu.
  11. It feels like they're going backwards with the Doctor. Ten=Eight, as far as a dashing romantic hero. Eleven=Seven, being manipulative and fatherly towards the female companion. Twelve=Six, angry.
  12. In the Adventure Comics stretch of the Showcase Presents: The Spectre and hoo boy this was what I'm looking for. Not that I wasn't enjoying what came before, I particularly liked his solo book, which had some early Neal Adams and Bernie Wrightson art. These stories are just 12 pages of pure Spectre terror. Would've loved to have seen a TV show or mature animated series with this. Guess that animated short will have to do. For now. And man, I love Aparo's Batman work, but I think this might be the best of his career.
  13. Born Again has become what Miller's Daredevil is known for, but actually reading 167-191, it's not that at all. Plenty of darkness, sure, but a whole lot of fun. "Guts" is one of my favorites of that run, and it's pretty much a comedy. Speaking of Born Again, I just read DD 297-300, the Last Rites arc. It's no Born Again, but it's not bad. DG Chichester overwrites like crazy, but Lee Weeks carries this story. I always thought that Lee Weeks' style was "JRJR if he didn't get carried away with the Frank Miller influence" Exceptional Daredevil art.
  14. It's the same but with the round things popping out and the time rotor is more orange-red than blue.
  15. Now I'm trying to picture a conversation between Strax and Drax. Just one scene, not too much that you'd get sick of it easily. I'd like that.
  16. I prefer the clone trooper helmets but these are just as cool.
  17. Release date is June 8, 2018. Makes sense, with all the CGI that a Godzilla, Rodan, Mothra and King Ghidorah movie would require.
  18. I've been reading Waid and Ringo's run in the softcover Ultimate Collections. I haven't gotten to volume 4 yet, mostly because I don't want it to end, but I seriously think that is one of the best superhero comics ever. It captures every single thing that I love in comic books so perfectly.
  19. Jessica Jones, a character Bendis created because he wasn't allowed to use Jessica Drew in a Marvel Max series. I think it's a Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch situation with the rights.
  20. I really liked Nebula. A good part of it could be knowing Karen Gillan and seeing how different this is from anything else she's done. But the vocal effects, the look and her performance in general all added up to a memorable character, at least for me. I do think that she needs a bigger role to play, and hopefully she'll get more stuff to do.
  21. Al Ewing and Rob Williams, both 2000AD and Marvel writers.
  22. Picked up the first issue of Titan Comics' Eleventh Doctor series. Fun story, a good companion in Alice, decent cartoony art, and a done-in-one issue. I'd recommend checking it out.
