  1. This week the guys took a look at Army@Love: The Art of War #3, Invincible #53, Justice League of America #25 and Terror Titans #1. The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/reviews/c/iiwy/iiwy-063
  2. Never in the history of the Is It Wednesday Yet? segment have Des and Mike been so divided on one comic book. Which host declared "I hate this book" about one of the following titles: Batman #680, El Diablo #2, Four Eyes #1, House of Mystery #6 and Vixen: Return of the Lion #1? Episode 59

What better to make you feel woefully insignificant in the universe than an episode of this size? Last weekend Desmond Reddick attended the HP Lovecraft Film Festival in Portland, Oregon, and this week he has more than three hours of footage to share with you. There's several reviews of the films seen at the fest and interview with the likes of: Frank Woodward (director of award-winning documentary Lovecraft: Fear of the Unknown), Mars (composer of said documentary and the man behind Dead House Music), Jovanka Vuckovic (editor in chief of Rue Morgue Magazine), Toren Atkinson (from The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets), Sean Branney (from the HP Lovecraft Historical Society) and Andrew Migliore (festival runner and head of Lurker Films). There's also recorded footage of speeches, awards ceremonies and a panel on Lovecraft in Pop Culture. There's also tons of inane and profane chatter with fellow cultists and guest co-hosts DZ (from Cinema Diabolica) and Brother D (from Mail Order Zombie). On top of all that, there's music! "Weird Tales" by Dead House Music, "Main Theme from In Search of Lovecraft" by Troy Sterling Nies, "Lovecrafted" by Dead House Music, "Cultists on Board" and "Sleestack and Yeti" by The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets, "Neither Dead nor Dreaming" by Troy Sterling Nies from The Call of Cthulhu and "The Innsmouth Look" by The Darkest of the Hillside Thickets. Sit back, oil up your tentacles, relax and enjoy this massive show. [ 3:14:39 || 89.1 MB ] The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/podcasts/dreadmedia...admedia_059.mp3
  4. If you're a villain, you'd better watch out, 'cause Ant-Man and his loyal army of ants are here to swarm your picnic! Art: Clayton Henry The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/wallpaper/full/Ant-Man_001.jpg
  5. What we have here is the dictionary definition of a cult show. Nobody watched this. Well, that's not strictly true. A few people did. And the ones who did started "Save Wonderfalls" websites about 20 minutes into the first episode. This is one of those shows, like Firefly, where you can cut through the press kit bullshit and tell that everyone involved really dug the show and was upset when it ended. Some of the most notable contributors to the "Save Wonderfalls" forums were, in fact, cast members and production crew. The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/reviews/m/wonderfalls-02
  6. Roll up, roll up! Come and see the incredible George Lazenby in his one and only starring performance as James Bond! And if the idea of listening to a show about On Her Majesty's Secret Service doesn't strike ya, we have our double act of freaks: Adham Fisher and Ian Wilson! Which host mocks the other about their understanding of anatomy? Which host sees lesbianism in every female? And what's the verdict on the new Bond theme? Step right up and find out! 7. The past few months have not been kind to Infinite Undiscovery. Despite being tri-Ace's first RPG for the Xbox 360, it's been overshadowed by bigger RPGs, such as Too Human and Tales of Vesperia. Still, I couldn't help but find myself drawn to it. I've generally enjoyed the few tri-Ace titles I've played, and it had been a while since I'd played an epic action RPG. But after I finally started playing it, it didn't take long to realize why Infinite Undiscovery wasn't making much of an impact. The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/reviews/v/infinite-undiscovery
  8. After the last episode left a bad taste in his mouth, Kellen looks to raise his spirits by reviewing one of the most acclaimed anime series of all time: Cowboy Bebop. [ 36:55 || 16.9 MB ] The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/podcasts/animezingp...imezing_014.mp3
  9. Though drqshadow has taken the week off, DW is joined by two new writers, and Mike chimes in with a review, too. Four of the eight comics they covered this week are Fables #76, Legion of Super-Heroes #46, Madam Xanadu #4 and Superman #680. The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/reviews/c/iiwy/iiwy-062
  10. Batman has re-formed the Outsiders, and their first mission involves stopping an OMAC and a European space launch (Batman and the Outsiders, volume one). First Spider-Man has to prevent Mr. Negative from killing off the entire New York City mafia, then he teams with Jackpot to stop a new Goblin (Spider-Man: Brand New Day, volume one). And then Maxwell Lord's new (yet familiar) team of superheroes bumbles into one adventure after another (Formerly Known as the Justice League). Episode 58

In this sleazy episode of Dread Media, Desmond Reddick does a song-by-song review of Mary Shelley Overdrive's new self-titled album. He then reviews the new special edition of Savage Streets, a classic 1980s exploitation flick. But before all that, Mark Wood, Simon McCorkindale and Miss Wyckedevil Jones from Mary Shelley Overdrive stop by to talk about all three of their new releases, two of which are free! Tunes include: "The Hardest Button to Button," "Broken Gifts," "The Devil You Know," "House of a Thousand Corpses" and "They Walk Among You" all by Mary Shelley Overdrive. Kick ass rock and roll aplenty! Check 'em out and download a couple free albums yourself at www.maryshelleyoverdrive.com. 12. At one point during the recording, Jenny says something so outrageous that Mike calls an end to the show. (Okay, they kept going, but he called an end nonetheless.) As it is with every Previews show, the laughter doesn't stop, and the October edition isn't any different. 13. Okay, try to imagine a show about a bitterly sarcastic young woman who hears voices telling her to do things that improve peoples' lives despite her wishes to keep her head down and not get involved. Are you thinking of Joan of Arcadia? Then you're one of the reasons Wonderfalls only aired four episodes. These two shows with remarkably similar concepts managed to premiere in the same season, airing on the same night, in the same timeslot. One of these shows was on Fox, so we always knew who was going to win. The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/reviews/m/wonderfalls-01
  14. In a world where thousands of people dress up as flamboyant Japanese cartoon characters... in a world where you have to avoid being bludgeoned by numerous replica Zanpakutos... in a world where you are left to wonder if you have, in fact, lost the game... one man stands alone with pen, paper and camera(phone) in hand... ready to chronicle the misadventures of the world of American anime fandom... and to brave dozens of terrible anime from the 1970s and 80s. One man. One mission. One convention center. This fall, Earth-2.net's James Deaux stars in... Anime Weekend Atlanta XIV: The Review! The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/articles/awa-14
  15. Just because there are no more episodes of Superman: The Animated Series and Gotham Knights to review doesn't mean James and Mike are done discussing it. Listen in as the duo reminisces about some of the best and worst moments from the two series. And of course, Ian Wilson is back with some of his favorite moments from World's Finest Podcast. 16. Just like the Earth-2.net: The Show segment, from this point forward the written version of Is It Wednesday Yet? will also be covering comic books from DC, Dark Horse, Image and the entire comic book industry! To kick things off, this week the guys reviewed Birds of Prey #122, Conan the Cimmerian #3, Sub-Mariner: The Depths #2 and War Heroes #2. The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/reviews/c/iiwy/iiwy-061
  17. There's something different about Is It Wednesday Yet? this week. The show is being released on a Tuesday. Both Des and Mike are present. And five comic books are being covered: Action Comics #869, Cable #7, City of Dust #1, Civil War: House of M #2 and Scalped #21. Wait! Were there two DC books in there? Episode 57

In this episode of Dread Media, Desmond Reddick gets all literary on yo' ass with a bevy of classic literature-based reviews throughout various media. The short film Ray Harryhausen Presents: The Pit and the Pendulum, Dante's Inferno and the BOOM! Studios comic Necronomicon #1 all get reviewed. Plus DW returns with a Brainscan on American McGee's Alice for the PC. Tunes include: "Inquisition Symphony" by Apocalyptica, "Murders in the Rue Morgue" by Iron Maiden, "Inferno" by Miranda Sex Garden, "Do the Necronomicon" from Evil Dead: The Musical, "Electric Alice" by Grinderman and "The Lament of Janos Skorzeny" by Mary Shelley Overdrive. 19. Long after Star Trek ended its original run of episodes, the series was kept alive thanks to Power Records. In this episode of Earth-2.net: The Show you'll hear three such recordings: Passage to Moauv, In Vino Veritas and The Crier in Emptiness! 20. After the wild imagery seen in the last installment of The King and I, I thought I'd tone it down and discuss another aspect of Kirby's character design: practicality. Whether it be for simplicity or ease, some of Kirby's character designs are those that don't scorch your retinas! These are dynamic in their simplicity and iconic in their own right. Let's sit back and take a look at the top 10 practical character designs. The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/columns/reddick/the-king-and-i-07
  21. Many great works of graphic storytelling have had bad live-action movies made from them. Batman, The Fantastic Four and Daredevil are classic examples. Kellen finds another to add to the list with his review of the Death Note feature film. [ 31:26 || 14.3 MB ] The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/podcasts/animezingp...imezing_013.mp3
  22. Some of the grades the guys gave this week might surprise you. For instance, one of the following books received a skip: Captain America #42, Daredevil #111 and New Avengers #45. The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/reviews/c/iiwy/iiwy-060
  23. No matter how hard they tried, Dan and Mike couldn't seem to agree this week. Is The Spirit, volume two goofy or trying too hard to be goofy? They agree that Wonder Woman: The Circle looks good, but that's where their consensus ends. And one of the hosts barely finished Sandman, volume two: The Doll's House. Episode 56

In this episode of Dread Media, Desmond Reddick reviews two Eurosleaze cannibal shockers - Papaya: Love Goddess of the Cannibals and Cannibal Terror - before welcoming back DW as he takes a bite out of Stubbs the Zombie: Rebel Without a Pulse. Plus, exciting news, and feedback aplenty. Tunes include: "Celebrate the Flesh" by Crom, "Love You More Dead" by The Black Rose Phantoms, "Experiment in Terror" by Fantomas, "Zombie Dance" by Alice Cooper and "If I Only Had a Brain" by The Flaming Lips. 25. On paper, Teen Wolf is a great concept: a teenage werewolf who accidentally outs himself seeks acceptance from his friends. In execution, however, things fall apart, and it's up to Jenny and Mike to make sense out of it. [ 2:15:15 || 61.9 MB ] The above is from: http://www.earth-2.net/theshow/episodes/e2ts_269.mp3
