1. Have they ever actually done a storyline where Wolverine is really knackered and loses his edge after working for so many teams at once?

You hear that Marvel? I'm your man.

Panel 1. A view from above. Luke Cage and Wolverine sit on a short cement wall dividing the sidewalk and a park. There are ninjas in various states of unconsciousness and death littered on the ground. Pools of blood and sharp pointy weapons a plenty, Luke has his arm around Wolvie.

LUKE: C'MON, MAN! YOU'RE DOING THE BEST YOU CAN...

Panel 2. The view has leveled off and tightened in on the characters' faces. Cage looks worried and Wolverine is hunched over with tears streaming down his face. They are both splattered with ninja blood.

WOLVERINE: IT'S JUST NOT ENOUGH ANYMORE. I USED TO BE THE BEST AT WHAT I DO AND NOW RONIN KILLS MORE NINJAS THAN ME. RONIN!

Panel 3. Same shot. Cage looks hopeful. Wolvie still cries.

LUKE: YOU KNOW CLINT LOOKS UP TO YOU. NOW THAT HE USES SWORDS HE'S ALL "YOU KNOW LOGAN'S A SAMURAI RIGHT? I WANT TO BE A SAMURAI TOO!" YOU'RE LIKE A ROLE MODEL TO HIM, NOW.

WOLVERINE: I KNOW, IT'S JUST...YOU EVER FEEL LIKE YOU'RE BURNING THE CANDLE AT BOTH ENDS?

    Now that's funny

sorry, but who is Ronin and Clint again ? or are they the same person just first and last name?

  2. a Hitman movie...that's awesome. I've played all the games and loved them

I just have this thought in the back of my head that Deiesel with mess it up, or in the least not live upto it...

    here's another list

which other bald white celebrity (or celebrity if they shaved their head) do you think would be as good or better than Diesel at playing 47?

lol...i just got a funny thought of patrick stuart AHAHA

  3. I'm thinkin Rogue is pretty tough hey...she gets close enough she'll kill you by touching you, lol

and imagine (back to the hulk) if she tried to take down him, he'll go banner and rogue will be the next she hulk, of course i can imagine she wouldn't be as hot as the artists make She-Hulk, but funny none the less

  4. Maybe it's because I started reading Wolverine and the X-books right around the time he had the Adamantium pulled from his skeleton, but I've always been partial to the bone-clawed Wolverine. Though he was still a mutant, it made him more human -- vulnerable. The claws could break, he could be hurt more easily, and it made him that much more of a tough guy when he worked through the pain and won.

    What are your thoughts?

I can't really think of wolverine without the adamantium...that's what drew me to him, that and the ealing factor...but you do have a point. Without the metal he is so much more vulnerable...i always thought "why dont the enemies just cut off his head, then realizing it cant be cause the knife, sword, etc. would hit metal and stop. But without that protection, the blade would go through and kill him...

but that just creates another question...having his head cut off? would that kill him

    yes or no

yes for the obvious reason HE HAD NO HEAD

but maybe no...would tendens and arteries spray from the body to join with the head to heal him? or having his head placed back onto his body by and ally...would it start to reattach?

  5. I feel that he would be just a guy that after many years of, like you said early in this topic Yoda, "Honing". Not necessarily HIS ability, but THE ability to throw objects at targets, and maybe reading up on the body's structure, where's the pressure points, main arteries, etc. to better able kill a person with so much as a pin...because he can throw it at an area he already knows will allow the victim to bleed out or suffocate

  6. Scroll down for a picture of the child's leg.

Mutation Found in 'Muscle Man' Toddler

By LINDA A. JOHNSON, Associated Press Writer

Somewhere in Germany is a baby Superman, born in Berlin with bulging arm and leg muscles. Not yet 5, he can hold seven-pound weights with arms extended, something many adults cannot do. He has muscles twice the size of other kids his age and half their body fat. DNA testing showed why: The boy has a genetic mutation that boosts muscle growth.

The discovery, reported in Thursday's New England Journal of Medicine, represents the first documented human case of such a mutation.

Many scientists believe the find could eventually lead to drugs for treating people with muscular dystrophy and other muscle-destroying conditions. And athletes would almost surely want to get their hands on such a drug and use it like steroids to bulk up.

The boy's mutant DNA segment was found to block production of a protein called myostatin that limits muscle growth. The news comes seven years after researchers at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore created buff "mighty mice" by "turning off" the gene that directs cells to produce myostatin.

"Now we can say that myostatin acts the same way in humans as in animals," said the boy's physician, Dr. Markus Schuelke, a professor in the child neurology department at Charite/University Medical Center Berlin. "We can apply that knowledge to humans, including trial therapies for muscular dystrophy."

Given the huge potential market for such drugs, researchers at universities and pharmaceutical companies already are trying to find a way to limit the amount and activity of myostatin in the body. Wyeth has just begun human tests of a genetically engineered antibody designed to neutralize myostatin.

Dr. Lou Kunkel, director of the genomics program at Boston Children's Hospital and professor of pediatrics and genetics at Harvard Medical School, said success is possible within several years.

"Just decreasing this protein by 20, 30, 50 percent can have a profound effect on muscle bulk," said Kunkel, who is among the doctors participating in the Wyeth research.

Muscular dystrophy is the world's most common genetic disease. There is no cure and the most common form, Duchenne's, usually kills before adulthood. The few treatments being tried to slow its progression have serious side effects.

Muscle wasting also is common in the elderly and patients with diseases such as cancer and AIDS.

"If you could find a way to block myostatin activity, you might slow the wasting process," said Dr. Se-Jin Lee, the Johns Hopkins professor whose team created the "mighty mice."

Lee said he believes a myostatin blocker also could suppress fat accumulation and thus thwart the development of diabetes. Lee and Johns Hopkins would receive royalties for any myostatin-blocking drug made by Wyeth.

Dr. Eric Hoffman, director of Children's National Medical Center's Research Center for Genetic Medicine, said he believes a muscular dystrophy cure will be found, but he is unsure whether it will be a myostatin-blocking drug, another treatment or a combination, because about a dozen genes have some effect on muscles.

He said a mystotatin-blocking drug could help other groups of people, including astronauts and others who lose muscle mass during long stints in zero gravity or when immobilized by illness or a broken limb.

Researchers would not disclose the German boy's identity but said he was born to a somewhat muscular mother, a 24-year-old former professional sprinter. Her brother and three other close male relatives all were unusually strong, with one of them a construction worker able to unload heavy curbstones by hand.

In the mother, one copy of the gene is mutated and the other is normal; the boy has two mutated copies. One almost definitely came from his father, but no information about him has been disclosed. The mutation is very rare in people.

The boy is healthy now, but doctors worry he could eventually suffer heart or other health problems.

In the past few years, scientists have seen great potential in myostatin-blocking strategies.

Internet marketers have been hawking "myostatin-blocking" supplements to bodybuilders, though doctors say the products are useless and perhaps dangerous.

Some researchers are trying to turn off the myostatin gene in chickens to produce more meat per bird. And several breeds of cattle have natural variations in the gene that, aided by selective breeding, give them far more muscle and less fat than other steer.

  7. am i mistaken in saying, wasn't the Hulk taken over by the venom symbiote, put them together and man have you got a powerhouse

That happened in an issue of What If?, but I'm not sure about regular continuity.

Yeah, that happens a few times doesn't it? Venom and Carnage taking over other mutants and heros

(in the what-if series Spider-Man waited too long to get rid of it and venom took over i think. Further into the story Spider-Man is consumed by the symbiote and renamed Poison?)

    Wolverine - Venom

    Hulk - Venom

    Scorpion - Venom

    Eddie's Ex-Wife - Venom

(which leads me to another point, having venom take over a woman is great because originally venom was supposed to be a woman but that idea was trashed because editors didn't believe at the time creating venom that a woman could make a good enough villian to protray venom)

    The Punisher - Venom

    Thor - Venom

    Spiderman- Carnage

    Silver Surfer - Carnage

    and i'm sure there's more

(all information, i gathered form Wikipedia)

  10. The costume in question isnt anything new to me, i've seen it before.

In the video game "Ultimate Alliance" for the X-Box you can play as spider man and choose different costumes for him to wear and that one is on of the options

  11. You are all getting off topic again, Yoda keeps bringing up that the topic was about strength. When "most Powerful" is said i think you all think of sheer power as in ability, but we're just talkin' muscle here, which i think the guy was right in thinking the Hulk, yes he can come and go with strength because of his anger but if he's in a fight...he'll fly off the andle for stubbing his toe, and that will only boost his strength.

    and

am i mistaken in saying, wasn't the Hulk taken over by the venom symbiote, put them together and man have you got a powerhouse

  12. The Prowler? Really? I'd much rather see Daredevil or Moon Knight in Gotham City.

I agree that Daredevil would be a good one but that fact that he has a super-human ability changes what i was going for (the fact that the two wouldnt have anything except just being human) and i'm not sure on Moon Knight, i can see him in my head i just cant remember him, does he have any powers?

  13. I recently watched the 2007 movie NEXT, in which a man with a small time magician act in las vegas has the power to tell the future. I'll admit i liked the idea of the movie having a man being able to tell the future, but having a limit on it so that it doesnt portray him as this big omnicient being like The Beyonder in the comics. Anyway, the FBI find out about his ability and hunt him down trying to make him help prevent a nuclear disaster that will kill billions. He feels that he is no use to them because he can only see 2 minutes into the furture when they want him to look much more than that to find out where and when this bomb will go off. It can get confusing at times when he predicts the future, because it plays out like the actual movie and you dont know whats really happening until he zones back in and the real plot continues. What really ticks me off though is the ending for the simple fact that there isnt one, it plays out after a scene with him and a woman in the bed...from there, many things happen that i my fingers dont want to type right now. we end up seeing that him and the FBI agents he finally teamed up with find that the bomb is not only gone but active at the last moment when the bomb goes off, ZOOM back to the bed where he and the girl are sleeping. like i said very confusing at times  ...knowing now that all that he did made him too late to save the day, he calls up the FBI woman and now knows what to do, and this is where i get pissed...instead of doing it, he says he's ready to do it AND THE MOVIE ENDS! ARGGGG :grumble: I AM SO GLAD I WATCHED THIS ON THE NET FOR FREE

(i know i said there were spoilers...im just sorry they're crappy spoilers)
