  1. All extremities crossed for you!
  2. Watched it on IMAX 3D yesterday and James sums up my thoughts. I think the story/script let down the characters and actors. Except for the end scene, as I really dug the "Welcome to the Planet" line, they should have cut all scenes involving Daily Planet characters except for 1 or 2 scenes with Perry and Lois. I didn't need them running, saving each other, because I had zero emotional involvement in them. That time could have been spent on another flashback to either Pa Kent or more character exploration of Zod.
  3. Playing it now and it's definitely got a fair bit of inspiration from Uncharted. Really enjoy some of the little voice acting bits, like when you make a number of good shots in a row, the bad guys comment on who good a shot you are.
  4. The Hunt - Danish film staring Mads Mikkelsen and it is amazing. I can't remember a movie that affected me this emotionally before. If you're looking for a break from the summer blockbuster, do yourself a favour and watch this movie.
  5. Or it could be nothing to do with the director and all to do with the fact that people just hate religion posing as entertainment.
  6. Just a thought, but isn't the point of the new reboot to be like the old series, but different? It's the same people, who even though their world had a HUGE event that changed their paths, they still somehow found each other. It stands to reason then, that they will go through a lot of the same struggles and meet the same people, but in a different way. Not saying the movie is great or bad, but justifying why I didn't think the Khan stuff was bad.
  7. Which is what bugs me about any top lists. Most viewers on TV is another one. The audience gets larger every year, so it should be a % of population watched... That's why MASH, Cheers and Seinfeld finales are impressive.
  8. And my $11. Made me almost spit my coffee..... I used to hate Glenn Close, but her stint in The Shield really turned me.
  9. The Company You Keep - I love almost all the people in this, except Shia, but he was even passable. I wish this movie was better than it was, as it has an all star cast, but most of them, as I read in a review, are like watching F1 cars sit in 1st gear, very frustrating. But, one thing this movie did confirm, is that I will now watch anything that has Brendan Gleeson in it. Rewatching West Wing with my girlfriend, as she never watched it originally. It still holds up, but it's also very frustrating that almost 15 years later we are still talking about the same topics, some have gotten worse (governing by opinion polls in particular).
  10. I thought it was really good and a great continuation of the first one out a couple of years ago. I love all the alternate timeline stuff that he is doing. Was a really smart way to do a reboot and totally avoid caring what fans think, while also pandering to them to a certain degree. Also think it is much better than Iron Man 3, at least it had a lot less plot holes! And as a guy here in the office said, More Benedict Cumberbatch in everything please.
  11. Really? I'm not saying the movie deserved a TV show, but I've watched in a number of times since with different people, and it's always entertaining.
  12. Rake, if it is done half as well as the original here will be a massive hit. Greg Kinnear should be able to pull it off, although I can't remember much of him in the loveable rascal kind of role.
  13. Wow, they are exceptionally good quality likenesses.
  14. 3D is over $20 here in Australia. Standard tickets are about $16 - $19 depending on where you go. Some places have cheap Monday or Tuesdays, where it is $10 - $12. For some perspective, The USD - AUD currency conversion is about even at the moment. Currently the full-time minimum wage is $15.96 per hour. Casuals covered by the national minimum wage get an extra 23% ($19.63 per hour).
  15. Divorce is a bitch. I think his is up there with John Cleese in losing a fortune. As for that Michael Caine quote; awesome....
  16. Initial reaction was I want to argue with that point, but I agree, I think the rest of the avengers could be replaced. Cap is almost there, especially if the sequel is a smash hit. And also, with Thor 2 in production, Hemsworth is carving out a nice spot for himself in there.
  17. I've never read an Iron Man comic, but I REALLY enjoyed everything about the Mandarin and he's storyline. I think the other thing was that it was a plausible scenario, which is one thing people were worried about when he was announced as the bad guy. I would LOVED to have seen Kingsley's face when he first read the script.... I've heard people complain about the plot, and I agree there is very, very little motivation behind Aldrich, but as a reviewer pointed out, it's no worse than the horrible plot holes in TDKR.
  18. I thought the message in The Breakfast Club is that highschool isn't the be all and end all of life. If you watch closely you see that the janitor is actually a previous school captain.

I don't know anything about her, but the vitriol coming from some people is quite disgusting. I've even heard normally intelligent people putting her in the same category of Hitler, which is just absurd.
  20. Thanks for the tips, it's now in the queue!
  21. Just watched a few episodes of Person of Interest. Thought it was/is really good, a little dissappointed that I missed it at the start. Part of it feels a little formulaic, but there is something really engaging about the 2 leads.

We never got the show, so I've only been introduced to him since he's been online and I quite liked his style, even if he did give away plot points sometimes. I liked that the cancer didn't get him down and he still soldiered on, even developing a whole new fan base since then. Fantastic guy.
  23. Couldn't join, was telling me it is not a private group.. Anyway, I have Gonzaga to make the Final Four. And also had/have Georgetown to make the final four as well (stupid heart over head)... First year doing it for me and I'm hooked, much to the dismay of my girlfriend
  24. Nolan couldn't even handle the multiple stories in DKR properly, how do they think he could handle a JL Universe? Why not get people already comfortable with the characters and let the people doing the animated serious craft the movie universe?
