I read issue #4 in the afternoon yesterday and wasn't crazy about it, but I re-read this issue last night at about 3 a.m, and now I think it is my favorite issue of the series so far. Wow, the difference a few hours can make. Some of the scenes in this issue brought back memories from the Angel series finale, certain panels of Watchmen, and some scenes in the movie Children Of Men. All of the moments in the issue that were supposed to effect me did on this read when i just let everything soak in. The panel featuring Blue Beetle hugging a child really got to me for some reason. The heroes are going to have to do a "Ghostbusters in the Statue Of Liberty" type thing to save everybody this time lol.

I guess i'm in the minority on this one, i think it all looks great.

You know i would of liked Jones to do the art for all 7 issues, but at the end of the day it's not really that big a deal. I am shocked to see that so many people are going crazy over this like it's the end of the world or something. Also, Doug Mahnke is a great artist and if anyone else had to step in and complete it, i am glad it is him (not to mention he illustrated Superman Beyond, and Seven Soldiers which tie into FC, so it makes sense from a story perspective too).

I think i've figured out who the black glove is. After hearing what Neil Gaiman recently said, a lightbulb went off in my head and i think the Black Glove is . . Morrison was right, that was right in front of our faces the whole time, and it never even crossed my mind.

Agreed, although i do seem to enjoy Chuck Dixon's work more than you do.

Well me and Des can wholeheartedly agree on something for once. Batman RIP is the best Batman story in ages, and it's one of the best comics on the stands right now. The one thing i can kind of agree with mike on is that i am not that crazy about the art but i still don't think the art is as bad as some people have been making it out to be. On the topic of the Joker's appearance, i don't think it's going to be part of his regular appearance.

Frank Miller's Spirit movie will be great! I totally don't get why everybody is hating on it so much, and i don't see the whole "Sin City 2" thing (other than the first teaser trailer).

This is not actually happening just so everybody knows. It was an idea that was floating around about a year or so back in the pitching phase but at the moment no direction has been chosen for the next TMNT movie.

I thought i would just point out to you guys since you brought it up, Mike Grell actually just recently signed a DC exclusive contract hence why they are releasing the Warlord HC to coincide with his brand new Warlord series in 2009. Most big creators have a clause in their contract that they have to keep all their work at the company in print for the duration of their exclusivity, so that might mean that there could be at the very least a new edition of The Longbow Hunter trade/HC and maybe a whole line of trades for the whole Green Arrow run. I also really enjoyed the show btw.

I can't stand all this Terry Moore/SMLMJ hate!
