  1. And the Reds clinch the central.

This is just awesome. I didn't expect it to happen this year, but I'll take it. Being a fan all my life, I must say that this is maybe the most fun I have had watching baseball. I didn't get to see them much in 90 when they won the series. I could only listen on the radio when they reached a one game playoff in 99. Being able to see almost every game this year had just been awesome. I really don't like their chances in the playoffs; just too many weak spots. But that doesn't matter now. I will just keep watching guys dump champagne on each other.

  2. Cake is good.

Eating 12 pieces of cake at a cake party is not good. Specially when one of the cakes was not so much a cake, but more of a "throw things in the cake mix and see what happens". It doesn't even matter if you only eat mini pieces. When all the different types of cake hit your stomach, you feel like death.

I have been home for the better part of three hours. I haven't really moved all that much.

I think I will go die now.

  3. Second thing: I am no longer watching sports with my roommate. He claims to be a fan of a team. Then he spend the duration of the game rooting for the other team. I cannot even begin to explain this one. It would be different if he didn't have a team in the fight, but rooting for your team to lose every game is really annoying.

About twenty minutes after I typed that, I was told that I watch too much sports and that I have a problem. He informs me that watching more than two baseball games a week, or more than one football game a week is way too much sports. Right.

  4. Two things:

I hate playing board games with people who are not paying attention. Case in point, my friend Troy. All my friends gathered for a game night. We all said to not tell him as he will only drag the evening down. He was invited anyways and killed the evening. For whatever reason, he cannot understand the rules of the game, know who's turn it is and maintain a sense of the games goal. We were playing fucking monopoly and he could not understand what was going on. So we basically had to cancel the game night because no one felt like explaining the rules every five minutes.

  5. What a glorious birthday it was. Funny story, everyone I know, save my parents and roommate, forgot my birthday. The only people to say anything were facebook friends I never talk to and you guys. Happy Birthday! Wooooo!

I think need a drink. Or seven.

  6. Been slowly making my way through "The Greatest Wrestling Stars of the 80s" DVD. The Mini Bios are rather enjoyable. However, most of the matches are just plain boring. I was more entertained by a two minute promo by Dusty Rhodes than anything else on the disc. Very disappointing.

  7. In reference to Haunted, we never find out who triggers the Slade mask dust. I've always thought that this was something Slade had set up in advance, in the event of his death. Because not only does it mess-up Robin hardcore, but it plants the seed that he is still out there. That alone would torment Robin and the Titans indefinitely. A final shot from their greatest foe, perhaps?

  8. I just watched my first complete episode of Impact. Judging from past reviews & that this was promoted as something special, I think it is safe for me to assume that this was not a typical episode.

That was the PPV they were going to do, before they went ahead with Hardcore Justice. So, it was special in that, most of the stuff would have been on a PPV card.

Well, that is somewhat of a disappointment then. Nothing outside of MCMG vs. Beer Money screamed PPV quality. I understand that with being on tv they lost an hour, so I can see that some matches would have been longer. I was however surprised with the lack of backstage/interview time. A simple straightforward wrestling show until the end. Too bad I fear when I watch next week, it will all go downhill.

  9. I just watched my first complete episode of Impact. Judging from past reviews & that this was promoted as something special, I think it is safe for me to assume that this was not a typical episode. But I do have a question. Does TNA portray that they are live? I would assume not due to the new Reaction show, but this in TNA so I don't give them the benefit of any doubt.

  10. I was a groomsman in my friends weddings earlier today. As such, I had to spend most of the evening with the wedding party taking pictures and generally standing around. The entire time one of the bridesmaids is starting conversations with me and apparently hitting on me. Now that never happens so I had no idea at first. So once the reception started, we danced and sat down and were talking when another groomsman keeps interrupting the conversation blatantly. After a while we go to dance again and he cuts in. Rinse, repeat. He cut into 4 dances. She finally told him to piss off, but still.

When we all left, I get a text thanking me for being a cockblock all night. Naturally this pissed me off, but I didn't respond. I will wait until he sobers up. If he brings it up again, which he most likely will since he is like that, I will polly go off on him. Asshat.

  11. For whatever reason, I decided to watch some of the DVDs that have laid in a pile for years. 1st one - Brian Pillman: Loose Cannon.

First off, I found the documentary to be a bit lacking. I don't know what it was, but it didn't seem up to the normal standards I am used to in the DVDs. I was not a fan while Pillman was alive, so I have no personal connection. And based on the matches, I just don't see what was all that special about him. Since I need something to do, here are my thoughts on the matches.

-Bruce Hart & Brian Pillman vs. Midnight Cowboys JIP if I remember correctly and thus I think is filler.

-Pillman vs. Lex Luger 10/28/89 Halloween Havoc Probably my favorite of the set.

-Pillman & Tom Zenk vs. Michael Hayes & Jimmy Garvin Short and painless, but nothing worth watching again.

-War Games 1991 with Pillman & Sting & Steiners vs. Four Horsemen 1st War Games I have ever seen, so this was entertaining. Yet, I have no idea why the Observer gave this match 5*s.

-Pillman vs. Ricky Morton I know why this is on here, but the Refer-eye Camera keep me from getting into this match.

-Pillman & El Gigante vs. Barry Windham & Arn Anderson Why? After reading Wiki, this lead to an angle, but the angle was not mentioned during the documentary and no matches from the angle are on the disc. And this match sucks. No match with El Gigante should be on a best of DVD.

-Pillman & Windham vs. Johnny Gunn & Zenk Again, seems like a match showcasing this team, but if this is the best match Pillman had with Windham as his partner, why not add another Hollywood Blonds match?

-Pillman & Austin vs. Ricky Steamboat & Shane Douglas Entertaining enough. The Masked Tag Team was kinda lost on me as I never saw the angle.

-WCW Thundercage with Pillman & Sting & Dustin Rhodes vs. Paul Orndorff & Austin & Rick Rude I've never seen a Thundercage before. I don't think I want to again. This sucked.

-Pillman vs. Jushin Liger 1st Nitro match and all, but still short and not very memorable. Nifty to see the matches take place in a mall tho.

-Pillman vs. Dean Malenko I know I watched this as my roommate remembered Malenko from his watching wrestling days. Yet, I remember nothing.

-Pillman vs. Eddie Guerrero Painfully short and seemingly only on the set because Pillman got Heenan to say fuck on the air. Which, since it is bleeped out, makes the entire thing pointless.

    -Pillman vs. Austin Meh.

-Calgary Stampede Hart Foundation vs. Austin & Shamrock & LOD & Goldust Nice crowd, but I feel that is match would be better in context.

-Pillman vs. Goldust Yet to watch, but I am not expecting much.

-Pillman vs. Liger Yet to watch, and I am hoping this is awesome.

So, after this really long review, I shall say this was not a good set. Christmas 2006 is now less enjoyable.

  12. So, my mom may have cancer. My dad called be and told me what was going on and it hit me hard. After I threw up, I drove straight over to my parents house to see my mother and see what is exactly going on. She is going to the doctor on Wednesday to get the full results. This is just... "GARRAHRIKHRLKSJHFDK" is all that is coming to mind. I have been sitting here for a while since I came back, trying to not think about it and failing. I just don't know what to do until we find out more information.

  13. So, my roommate just brought home a lady friend. He did not inform that he would be doing so before hand. Now I am in the awkward situation of them wanting me to leave, yet me being in the middle of cooking a nice meal and thus not leaving. But, on the other hand, I am now hearing his date banter. It is very hard not to laugh loudly. So at least I have entertainment.

  14. I am really excited about Edinson Vólquez starting tonight. I am really hoping that he didn't come back from Tommy John too soon. If he can be the All-Star level pitcher he was went he got injured, it is like making a blockbuster trade without giving up anything.

This does pose somewhat of an interesting situation. The Reds have, in theory, 6 starters. Aaron Harang is on the DL, but should be ready in a week or so. Travis Wood has been great in his three games. Mike Leake has been awesome all year. Arroyo has turned himself into the ace and Cueto has finally turned that corner into realizing his potential. I know that Wood will be sent down, but Harang is by far the worst of the starters. I would really like to see a trade of Harang for some middle relief help.

I LOVE being this excited about baseball after the All-Star break. Year after year of losing can kill interest in a hurry.

  15. As far as the TNA thing goes, I'd say in-ring work should be somewhere around "does catering supply enough coffee" on their long list of priorities.

Fuck, I can't wait for that company to die. I'm going to dance when it finally happens. Dance, I say.

I can honestly say that I would be surprised if TNA dies. I have thought that they would die seven times over in their history but they are still around.

On the other hand, if TNA were to die, it wouldn't be a surprise as to why.

  16. I've talked to a few friends, had to listen to endless ESPN coverage while at work, and listened to local talk radio on the way home. And this is getting way out of hand.

I am not an NBA guy by far, but LeBron was a free agent and signed with another team. What is the problem? He felt that joining the Heat gave him the best chance of winning a title. And what is the point of professional sports? To win. If he would have stayed in Cleveland he would have gotten KILLED for staying and taking the most money available.

This decision has been hyped for two years. I would say that it overshadowed the NBA Finals this year. How was he supposed to announce his decision? Tweet? Facebook status update? Press Conference? He would have got hate for any method. But I agree that it could have been handled better.

In the end I will watch the NBA just the same: not much at all.
