Work is going to be hell this weekend. I work at a state park that includes a campground. I am going to have to explain that: 1. No, there are no spaces; the nonreservables have all probably been taken, and the reservable sites have been booked up eleven months at the least, if not more, before this. 2. No, fuckwads, you cannot set off your fireworks anywhere in the state parks. 3. The beaches and such are just going to be crowded and full of stupid drunk idiots. However, after tomorrow's ten hour shift, I get to go to Flogging Molly at Summerfest. Life will be wonderful after that.

It's... 8 in the morning. Mortal Kombat Annihilation is on. Why not. Bad movies are always good at this time of the morning. xD

What happens with me is that I will usually go into a movie looking for not only good visuals, but a good plot to compliment it. If it has one but doesn't have the other, then I usually have a hard time enjoying it.

Just got done with the South Park movie. Nice fun watch, especially before bed here.

However, the R-rated comedy does seem to be doing better than most these days (see: The Hangover), and Borat was pretty successful, too.

UGH. Just got back. I think that this may have been the worst movie I have seen in a few years. Several things: -Never be a female below forty or so in a Bay film, human or robot. You will either function as a sex object, or die. -WHY THE HELL DID THERE NEED TO BE DECEPTICON BALLS?! -Those locations are, in fact, not anywhere near each other in Egypt. Learn geography plz. -Why did Sam go to ? -Why could the five Decepticons who ? -Why did all the ethnically-accented robots only function as comedy relief/were the only ones to die? -What the hell was with all the bad gay jokes? -Why was the robot being more or less in a slave/master relationship with Mikaela humping her leg? -Don't even bother applying logic. It doesn't work. -The scene with the probe-bot almost made me throw up in the theatre. Apparently I don't do well with that. And probably several other things that I forgot in my rage. In short, awesome battle scenes, even if I couldn't tell half of the robots apart half the time, horribly written dialogue and plot. Also,

I'm looking at first page, second column, third panel down; there seem to be what look like bloodstains on the ground by the cape, and a tear on the cape itself? That might just be me.

The blood stains on the floor seem to imply he was crawling away from them.

Des, I think these sorts of remakes would be an interesting thing to look at in DM at some point. These seem to be really common with horror films more than any other genre.

Finishing up the Etrigan ep of Brave and the Bold, and now... Hell with it, nothing else is on, America's Next Top Model it is.

Slight spoilers for Cry for Justice #1 possible. The Ray Palmer as seen in Cry for Justice is... interesting. Now, I admittedly don't know a lot about Ray Palmer, but... this doesn't seem right.

Can't judge, never seen the original as of yet. Should probably get on that. The only aspect of Twilight I've ever heard it compared to has been in the main characters' relationship. Otherwise, I've heard very high praise pretty much everywhere. And honestly, if Twilight had been more honest about the creepy and not tried to idealize it, it probably would've sat better with me.

Nah, this would've happened anyways, even if Twilight had never existed (if only, if only). There's a general trend of Americanizing foreign horror films that do really well in independent release (see: The Ring, the Grudge, several Korean horror films come to mind more immediately). Let the Right One In would've been adapted, and fairly quickly; Twilight only accelerated the process. Though, as I understand it, the main characters' relationship is pretty similar to that of the mains in Twilight, just more honest about the creepy.
