  1. Still playing Kingdom Hearts II. Almost done with completing Jiminy's goddamn Journal. And then I can go onto what is going to be a crazy easy final boss fight and see that secret ending stuffs.
  2. They're watching it again. I'm ripping it to pieces to keep my sanity. Not sure how well it's working.
  3. Good to know your phone actually works now. So call me. I'm going insane out here. Making sure he smokes his regular ten a day, then making him quit and testing his mood/vocab/thinking/logic. Okay, good, nothing that could damage him for life. xD
  4. Admittedly, I've never seen Akira as of yet. Should fix that at some point. But so long as they're not making it Neo-Manhattan and it's not Leo DiCaprio in charge of it, I'm fine with a few alterations.
  5. ...What kind of medical testing?
  6. GOOD. Now, hopefully, someone can pick this up and do it right.
  7. God, once I've got everything reinstalled on the Mac, I need to catch up with this show.
  8. I've been hearing about this for a while; I'm interested to see what results.
  9. High School Musical 3. My little sisters chose to watch it tonight. HELP. ME.
  10. You'll have to ask his wife about that one.
  11. About a week late with this, but the hell with it, I haven't had time to read things that much. Ultimate Spider-Man 133: Picked this up on drq's rec, I believe. Having not read anything that went before it, I was a bit lost, but, overall, it wasn't that bad. I liked the dialoguelessness, simply relying on the pictures instead of exposition to tell the story. And the last few pages are absolutely heartbreaking. Deadpool #11: A good, fun issue; the results of Deadpool having an arrow in his head and coming back from the dead include getting saved by haiku and a slightly spazzy brain, along with some good old hallucinations and a lot of the humor that's been missing in the last months. Last of these until I go back in September, and then it will be massive catchup times. Comic Books: 53 TPBs: 19 Graphic Novels: 2 Motion Comic: 1
  12. He looks like it, I swear. I'll find a picture somewhere for reference. xD
  13. Well, if we're going for horribly cliche, then the Vitamin C song "Graduation" should just about do it.
  14. Watch Public Enemies. My little sister's guitar teacher should appear somewhere in one of the hotel shots. (Look for a ginger haired guy who looks like the kid from A Year Without Santa Claus.)
  15. Unexpected good news. I'm getting the laptop back today, cause the guy found the hard drive. WHOO!
  16. Turn on the local pop/rap station, you're bound to get something that you can use.

I would watch it if I could. Sounds so awesome. Upgrading to a third-party 250 gig hard drive for $150ish, and I'm pretty sure that includes service charge, which isn't half bad. Have to reinstall everything and lost my music library, which is a pain, but meh, what can you do? Should have it back by the end of this week/the beginning of the next.
  18. Well, that was before I tried just about everything to reboot it. See my thing in Randomness to find out how the rest of it went. It's looking like my hard drive died. I'm not expecting to get anything back (though if they could get some documents and my music library back, that would be fucking excellent) at this point.
  19. Well, it turned out to not have been as horrible as I thought it was going to be. Yeah, I lost a significant amount of data, but not anything I consider incredibly important (all that stuff's been backed up in several places), just mildly inconvenient. 'm sorry that they laid your husband off today, Nicolette. James, I understand where you're coming from there, but I'd like to give 'em the benefit of the doubt and think it was for a family birthday or something. If you see them getting it on a regular basis, then I think there should be a healthy amount of skepticism there.

For the record, letting us near kids is a Very Bad Idea. Well, I'm going to see how long these people who Apple recommended as service providers are open tonight, and hopefully, we can get this taken care of in the next week. I'm assuming that if I reinstall Adium on my laptop and am able to reconnect to my account, I'll be able to get all my IM transcripts back. I had a significant amount of fic I was working on that I'm sad to have lost, along with my entire iTunes library, but oh well, it's nothing I can't rewrite/find and burn again. But, otherwise? Anything I was watching (which is mainly what I'm concerned about losing) was backed up on the external hard drive, my massive ethnography, which is already turned in on hard copy, is backed up on a flash drive, and most of my major documents that were stored on the laptop are saved in the email attatchments they came from.

Well, this is one of those good news/bad news situations. The bad news is that, after talking with the Apple Support people, my Mac's hard drive probably died last night, as evidenced by the fact that I can't get past a grey screen and I hear a clicking noise whenever I try to start it up, and I lost whatever data I didn't have backed up (which includes a bunch of fic and my music library, primarily, but oh well). The good news is I did have a significant part of that backed up in various locations (thank you, external hard drive, flash drive, and keeping important attachments!), and that even outside of warranty, getting a new (and bigger!) hard drive will cost well under a hundred. So, this means that that I'm not going to be on as often as I have been for a bit.
  22. ...My Mac may have just died. FUCK. MY. LIFE.
  23. Uhm, okay. So, I'm in the process of torrenting several things, have my Firefox, Adium, and Last.fm open. Decide to plug in the external hard drive. Everything has been going incredibly slow, now freezes up completely. Can still move mouse, but screen is not responding. Take out the external hard drive, reboot. Can get white screen, but beyond that, nothing; just a black screen with a white flickering cursor. I go through the steps as listed in the Mac manual. Can now get white screen, but no Apple logo; just a flashing file with a ? mark. And I'm hearing clicking noises from the computer, like - CLICK clickclickclick, pause, and repeat again. Please tell me my hard drive has just not died on me.
