  1. ACTUALLY, you were both right. The scene with Stark and General Ross was intended for after the credits of The Incredible Hulk. But the studios or whatever were getting complaints about what had happened with Iron Man earlier in the year, add to the fact that parts of the scene ended up in advertizements for the movie, they simply moved it to before the credits instead. Thankfully they went back to the after credits scenes with the Thor bit in Iron Man 2.
  2. The Angel doesn't talk bit is used quite often in the series. Not until he gets his own series I think he is finally allowed to open up and tell people what's what, instead of being all "Fuck off, I'm supposed to be the GOD DAMNED BATMAN! Even though Frank Miller isn't going to write that for another 5 years or so!" I forget what episode it is down the road, in a later season, Buffy is talking to Angel in the crypt, and she literally has a freaking 10 minute monologue, including questions, and all Angel does is look at her in a mopey, brooding look. I guess having a soul when you are a vampire means you lose all concepts of conversational skills!
  3. I'd pitch it, but as I said, I'm not in any position (resources, time, etc) to tackle that sort of project. At least not for the foreseeable future anyway. And yeah, I see everyone's point in terms of Wheedon vs JMS in terms of long term quality. Especially in light of JMS's literally quitting mid-story (yeah he has his "reasons" and he is still plotting them out, but for all intents and purposes he quit) on both Supes and WW.
  4. Not sure who should do this as I don't have access or the time to all the material that would be covered, but with Joss Wheedon's works being coverd, the other big name serial medium crossover guy, J. Michael Straczynski, deserves to have his due. Now I'm sure he's done much, much more than the stuff off the top of my head (Rising Stars, the Babylon 5 franchise, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Thor, Superman, Wonder Woman (though plotting for those two since leaving to do Superman Earth-One II) and The Brave & The Bold) but Wheedon also has a decent list of credits other than what Preston and Hannah are covering for Big Damn Heroes. Eh, just a suggestion for another pod focusing on a producer/creator. Take it, leave it, you know =
  5. Interesting question about the whole "Jesse in the credits sequence" thing that Joss wanted. Is there some sort of SAG thing about leaving actors in credits or something, even if the character is no longer on the show? In other words Jesse would have ended up still being used in the credits until the end of the season, despite never being referred to again? Case in point, John Schneider left Smallville in mid-season, and came back for IIRC a couple of episodes, but remained in the opening credits for the rest of the season, including the "as Jonathan Kent" tag on his credit. Of course this current season Allison Mack signed on for a handfull of shows, and she is in the opening credits instead of "Guest Starring" or whatever on the title cards after the opening credit sequence. So who knows.
  6. Oh sure, NOW I find out after shooting the gmail addy a message this morning! = I'm sending it over to the Earth-2 address just to get it into my gmail's system.
  7. Haha. Okay. The Origin comic is probably something we'll mention briefly at the end of the Buffy run along with S8 and Fray, as those are the major entries that are a large part of canon as it is being established. As I understood it, it was only Whedon's version of the movie, which I understand was significantly different to the end product, that he accepted as canon, and not the 92 movie as we knew it. There are also several mentions of the "events" of the movie througout the series. Including one flashback where Angel witnesses Buffy meeting Merrick, obviously not Donald Sutherland, for the first time. BTW, it is interesting that probably the two most famous TV shows to spin out of a movie (stuff like Batman '66 and Superman & The Mole Men do not count as they were essentially piolts to their respective shows), Donald Sutherland was involved, and in both he had an unpleseant experience. And not only that, one or the other is hated by a person very close to the movie project. Everyone here is aware of Wheedon's feelings about the movie. Hell those feelings GAVE us the TV show, And M*A*S*H* the TV show is DESPISED by the movie's director, Robert Altman, for various changes that they've made. Specifically that the show dared to tell the audience WHERE the war was and showed the enemy. Of course Altman was such a bleeding heart pacifist that he never saw that there were stories througout the years that would take stances similliar to Altman's world view and take on wars in general. So my guess is Altman is jealous of the fact that the show, which he had not a single thing to do with, is more well known than his classic movie.
  8. 20 years later, I think Paul Reubens' character is still in the midst of dying!
  9. DUDE, HOW IN THE HOLIEST OF HELLS DID YOU NOT LIST BEAST BOY AS A SHAPE SHIFTER? My GOD, are you FUCKING KIDDING... Wait a second...DCAU Shape Shifters...hmmmm AH HA! GOTCHA SIMMS AND DEAUX! You have just proved once and for all TEEN TITANS: NOT IN FUCKING CONTINUITY! = Alright, alright I'll buy the darn shirt...
  10. I know he didn't have much to do with it, but he did write it, so is the movie Buffy going to be brought up?
  11. What was the deal with the Blue Beetle embargo? I know about the whole Bat-Embargo, but why would there have been one for Blue Beetle?

Just a scant few weeks until Pitchers & Catchers start reporting all across Florida and Arizona! :buttrock:
  13. I'm not going to link it, in case The Boss frowns on that in threads other than the project shilling folders and signatures, but there is a podcast that is doing that show called Spectacular Webs. Co-Hosted by the poster named Donomark here (in case you don't want your secret ID known big man) and Thomas Matis (who AFAIK is not on the Earth-2.net forums so I feel a bit more comfortable revealing his name) They've been on a long hiatus recently and only are on episode 15 of the series, second of the second, and sadly final, season. But I'm sure they'll be back with a vengeance soon to finish up the remaining 11 episodes this year.
  14. I know you can get gonorrhea from a tractor! (classic Seinfeld reference)
  15. Re: Fire at Will joke. Funny you should say that, a joke I'd like to think about that never happened in Star Trek: The Next Generation, but should have is...well, you know how damn literal Data was during the first few seasons of that show? I always thought it'd be cute if Picard told the security officer (either Worf or Yar) to "FIRE AT WILL" and then Data proceeds to get up, turn around and aim his phaser directly at William Riker!
  16. If I'm not mistaken, I believe this was the first time James has spoken during the outro. ALL this time I thought the outros, since they follow a clip from one of the episodes, were all done quickly by Mike in post! Well, now I know, and knowing IS half the battle!
  17. Hey guys, couple of podcast things 1) So Mike, are you actually competing with Kevin Smith's Smodcast Network now? Kevin now has a pod for every day of the week, including some every now and then shows. 2) There is a podcast that seems to be around for a while though they mark their episodes by "seasons" and it looks like they've taken long hiatuses and such, that, well right now they are going through the current season of Smallville, but is dedicated to DC Comic book characters in other mediums called World's Finest Podcast. Probably moot to do anything at this point since Earth-2's WFP will be closing up shop early in 2011, but since Mike mentioned how it is a good idea for people to search and see what's out there before going forth with their ideas. But the only reason I've heard about it is because the SupermanHomepage.com features it, and one of their contributors seems to now be a regular on that podcast. And plus this stuff is free on the net, so even if they have the same name there isn't real reason to do any ceasing and desisting, unless they were fostering Mike's and James' opinions as their own which I doubt is happening.
  18. Hey Simms, ya want your payment? Here it is! Superman-Batman Annual 4 Review TheBatmanUniverse.net
  19. Actually I got two vibes. Solvent Green (IS PEOPLE!) and there is this episode of the Original Star Trek called "A Wolf In The Fold" where the villain winds up inside the Enterprise computer and says in the same high pitched voice various threats like "YOU WILL ALL DIE HORRIBLY!"
  20. Looks like The Lost Episode was a promotional piece done for a cereal give-a-way. The Lost Episode
  21. I don't think anything exists like that. I've always thought the "DCAU" was kind of informal, especially since they never really intended for it to be a tight continuity thing. I mean sure you had the Batman-Superman crossovers to kick start the idea of a DCAU, but no one actually came out and said "Yeah, this is going to be the way it is." I mean I'm pretty sure the informal ambiguity is the reason for all the debate over the Titans being part of the DCAU proper rather than being a show about these characters, and not necessarily a part of the bigger picture, just because certain talent and production companies crossed over.
  22. Could just be that Timm was more hands off on TT and he concerned himself more with the other shows.
  23. Cyborg actually pops up in the final incarnation of SuperFriends around 1985. He also has a Super Powers figure from that era as well The SuperPowers Team: Galactic Guardians
  24. This might be late to do for the next episode, but have you guys given thought to doing a special "email bag only" episode, unnumbered so it won't affect the episode numbering, just to clear out the mail box and you'd have enough time to do the actual episode?
