The only problem I had with 7 was the lack of shock Foggy showed when he hit that guy with the baseball bat. Batting someone in the head is an intense level of brutal violence that would shock someone like Foggy for sure. I know this. It was almost farcical the lack of concern he showed. I really like the action in Daredevil, but if there's one big thing about it that I don't like, it's the fact that people take repeated brutal hits to the head and basically walk away with scratches. Although it's rare, you can die from a single sucker punch to the face, let alone a flurry of roundhouse kicks.Okay, so, just finished it. Overall I really loved it, but I do have a couple of gripes, notably with the last episode:-The red costume. Don't like it much at all. After putting on the new suit, Matt basically went from being Daredevil to being Batman without a cape. The DD suit isn't as stiff as any of the movie batsuits, but it's definitely stiffer than the black shirt and pants he was wearing before. Daredevil is supposed to be agile as all hell; he's not a dark knight in armor. Also, the "personality" of the cowl doesn't work as well as the black headwrap. Hell, I think I actually like the 2003 movie cowl better.-Fisk is a great character, but he's clearly not the Kingpin of the comics, and I don't think I like that. I don't have a problem with Vanessa or the fact that Fisk has a love story. I think it's great that Fisk, in his own way, believes he's Hell's Kitchen's savior. What I think works less well is the fact that he's basically a mentally unstable child. Comics-Fisk flies into a rage when someone dares challenge or oppose him (pride); MCU Fisk loses his mind when he doesn't get his way (immaturity). "Emotionally stunted" is the key phrase with MCU Fisk; he's so unstable that he can barely get a sentence out without stammering. And while I think that makes for a deep character, I also don't think I particularly like that they chose to take him in that direction. 616 Fisk is prideful, but MCU Fisk is pathetic. If they'd killed off Vanessa and given Fisk his Casino Royale moment, then maybe it'd be fine. But as it is, this version feels incomplete. She gets to have an incredibly dangerous man as her lover and also take care of him like he's a sick puppy. She clearly has her own massive level of pride; it only makes sense that she'd enjoy a relationship where she was in control to that degree. I want to like the suit more, but there's certainly room to grow. Actually thr black suit grew on me a lot. He looked and felt like Daredevil a lot more in a way that the red suit didn't make him feel. The fight with Fisk was a bit more conventional and superhero-y, whereas most of the fights were, choreographed yeah, but came out looking more believable. It's not godawful, but I hope it's improved next time we see it. I also agree about Kingpin, there was never any BOSS moments with him. He always looked like he was about to cry. Venneh Posted April 16, 2015 Report Share Posted April 16, 2015 I think in terms of their similarly lengthened shows, this is miles ahead of Agents of Shield, and on par with Agent Carter. I sincerely hope we get to see the women actually take a more significant/less constantly in peril role next season, cause that's the one thing that's bugging me. CaptainAmerica2011 Posted April 23, 2015 Report Share Posted April 23, 2015 I disagree with people saying Wilson Fisk didn't feel "boss". As soon as he throws that first headbutt on the Russian, then proceeds to explode his head with a car door, I was terrified every time he was on screen. Even though he didn't feel totally like the comic character, I took it as an evolution of the character. All the stuttering and sense of insecurity I took as a man who was trying to hide who he was to himself, and being something he is not. It built all the way up to his quote from the bible, and that's when I felt he really evolved. Turned into the Kingpin. I think we'll see the more of him being Kingpin of Crime in the next season, and I felt the slow build so satisfying. Especially when they finally threw down in the alley way. My big gripe with the 2003 movie is that Daredevil was a murderer, which was a big departure from the comics. That's not the case here. I loved the relationship between Daredevil and Stick.
