Davedevil
Sigourney Weaver is going to be the villain of The Defenders. And I lost my shit.
Dan
According to Wal-Mart, Daredevil Season 1 is finally getting a Region 1 Blu Ray release next month.
JackFetch
Rosario Dawson is confirmed for Iron Fist. Claire Temple is the Agent Coulsen of The Defenders.

Dread
Three episodes in on Luke Cage and I'm not even sure I want to watch anymore. Every time I think the acting is great, there's a ridiculously over the top mind-bogglingly poor acting choice. The action is terrible, by far the worst of the Netflix Marvel stuff. The writing is flat.
Stavros
Really? I like the differentiated action style. The first half of the season as per usual with Marvel is by far the best.
JackFetch
I will say the fight at the end looked ridiculously stupid. The whole time I was thinking "just punch him in places that weren't covered, like his throat and the whole bottom of his face".
Koete
The first half of the season as per usual with Marvel is by far the best.Interesting. I thought it took 5 or 6 episodes before both of the Daredevil seasons really got going, while Jessica Jones hit a point where they could have ended, but artificially extended things.

Once they switched to the hand I though it went downhill fast.
Koete
You're right, I was more thinking of the middle as the high point of Daredevil Season 2, with the trial of The Punisher and the return of Kingpin. While I liked the siege of the hospital, I'm not a big fan of The Hand even in the comics.

Donomark
It looks okay. Not bad but nothing I feel I've not seen before.

Dan
I don't dislike it, but I don't see anything there that's going to encourage anyone to watch it that wasn't going to anyway.
Missy
The Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage trailers all possessed their own unique styles, and told you everything you needed to know going into each program. This one lacks any sort of originality and uniqueness; it looks like a mixture of Batman and Iron Man, what with the prodigal son returned, a rival executive, and Asians foes. The only difference is the mystical power, but the trailer didn't so enough to sell that angle. I'm employing the Wait & See approach, but I'm going in with very low expectations. If that's not an indication to not watch, I don't know what is.
Donomark
It's hard to sell a martial arts show when Daredevil had fantastic fight scenes that were an unexpected treat of the series, and this doesn't seem to primarily showcase that. JackFetch
I never realized how alike Iron Fist and Batman's origins are. Lost parents as a child. Learned martial arts in a foreign land and came back years later to take over the family company after everyone thinks they are dead.

Donomark
Yeah Danny's origins are more accidental than Bruce's, who plotted out his course of action when he came home from his parents' funeral.
Dan
The review embargo for the first half of Iron Fist has been lifted, and it doesn't sound promising.
Dan
Yeah, Iron Fist isn't great. It's not TERRIBLE, but it's nowhere near at the level of any of the other Marvel Netflix series.
Donomark
I haven't started it yet, waiting until later tonight to catch it with my gf, but if it's boring or uninspiring throughout I won't feel bad in not completing it. All of the Netflix shows at some point feel like a chore to get through, either because they're so dark or because I feel the need to stay in the loop with what happens. Since they've been filming the Defenders, I'm less inclined to worry about what I might miss that isn't adequately covered in a Wikipedia entry. JackFetch
The problem is the pacing. I like the story, but it drags so much at times that I lose interest.
Dan
Even if you discount the unfortunate "white guy goes to the East to learn Eastern things and becomes the best at all the Eastern things" motif (and so soon after Doctor Strange, which was really poor planning),my main thing is that the whole point of Iron Fist is that he's the greatest martial artist who ever martial arted, and if that's the case, the fight scenes in this should be fucking spectacular, and they just aren't. I'm not looking for another hallway fight or Luke marching through the community center, but these are just standard issue TV fight scenes that aren't even as good as some of what they've been able to do on Agents of SHIELD.
