From there, she and Dan break down the plot of Aldous Huxley's groundbreaking 1932 dystopic vision of dehumanization, Brave New World. Both the con and the Lantern are homages to the Lensmen books. Arisia (the convention) split off from an earlier con called Boskone (itself a Lensman reference).
