Though it's been a while since I've seen an episode, Case Closed is probably my favorite. However, Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi deserves a nod due to its quirky humor.

RahXephon is my favorite anime, with Cowboy Bebop close behind.

Grave of the Fireflies is easily the best anime movie I've ever seen... and one of the best movies I've seen at that.

And I was thinking about getting that one, that is the one about the brother and sister in post-nuke Japan

That was the first anime movie I saw, and it was one of the most moving movies I have ever seen. And it was at my school's anime club, where I got my first taste of the greatness that is anime.

Hmm... my favorite anime... what could it be? I guess I'll just settle with Fullmetal Alchemist. :D

Most of the movie takes place while America is still firebombing Japanese cities (Kobe is firebombed near the beginning of Grave of the Fireflies), so I'm pretty sure that the majority of the movie happens before the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings. There are a couple of references to the bombings near the end of the flim, though... most relating to the fact that the Japanese have lost the war.

But, yeah, you have the right movie in mind. :P
