I'll be checking that out momentarily.

Single White Female: Started out slow for me, but good really engaging halfway through once shit git real. Jennifer Jason Leigh was terrific.

Spoiler

The film was also surprisingly brutal and pretty edgy for the time. It's the first instance I've seen in an American film of a woman-on-man rape scene, and it's very explicit.

Primal Fear: A film whose twist ending tries its damnedest to make it worthwhile, but never really does. Edward Norton's performance is about the only thing to pay attention to, and would be a good contender for Hey! An Actor, but otherwise, what was accomplished in this story? I didn't care about Richard Gere or Laura Linney. Even Andre Braugher, one of the finest, most underrated actors ever, has little to do in this rote film that's really too pleased with itself.

Lethal Weapon: Yet another oft-touted "classic" that meets the hype. Mel Gibson may be a bastard but he's a helluva good actor. What surprised me was that this is mainly Danny Glover's film. He comes across as the main character, though this is truly the tale of dual protagonists. Still, a solid actioner in the vein of Die Hard and other 80s movies that holds up 30 years later.

The Neverending Story: It's been years since I last watched this film and it's a fun little story. There are problems you don't notice when you're a kid but, otherwise, it's a fun ride.

The Lord of the Rings: I watched all three of the extended editions back to back to back. I can say with all honesty that some of the added material is of great value to the films. Like, there is some stuff that just makes everything work better. Then you have stuff that's filler of the highest order.  Jackson loves New Zealand but all the scenery porn is just too much.  Yes, it's pretty but most of them are establishing shots for nothing. We get it: they're walking.

Rat Rave: An attempt to capture the lightning in the bottle that was It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. It's okay. Some of the humor has not aged well at all. It's definitely dated in when it was made.  Case in point: The plot is resolved via a Smashmouth Concert.

The Gamers: Hand of Fate: I enjoyed the original 2 The Gamers movies. This was... about CCGs? Why? It's also long. Like really long. Much longer than it even remotely needed to be. It was good and fun but few comedies need to be over 2 hours long.

Best Film So Far: All About Eve
Best Film So Far that isn't one of Will's five favorite of all time: Duck Soup

Worst Film So Far That Isn't Showgirls: Cruel Intentions 2

Tropic Thunder: It's okay. Precisely okay. RDJ gives a terrific performance and Tom Cruise was very funny, but the approach wasn't really anything new. A lot of jokes ran the gamut from "I don't know how to feel about this" to "Well that's dated and offensive". Jack Black was hilarious tho.
