Missy
Animated Wolverine Series in the Works Variety reports that Marvel Entertainment has teamed with Indian animation company First Serve Toonz to produce an animated X-Men series centered on Wolverine. Marvel Studios chair-CEO Avi Arad and FST chief executive Ed Borgerding will announce the project today, during this year's Mipcom TV mart. The companies are set to produce 26 episodes, which will be available for distribution in 2007. The announcement follows last year's news that Marvel and French animator Antefilms Productions had partnered on a Fantastic Four animated show available next fall. Marvel will oversee domestic distribution; FST will handle international and DVD sales.
Luke
This is tré cool, but it'd be nice if for once one of Marvel's animated series' would last a little longer than they do. It seems that just as you're really getting into something like X-Men Evolution, they pull the plug and focus on the next movie-hyped comic. It's such a shame what happened to the Silver Surfer series.
JackFetch
The trailer for Wolverine and the X-Men is here. sniff...almost reminds me of the old days...sniff
Dread
So I take it I'm the only one who think this looks like a steaming turd?
James D.
Yes. *marks at Michael Ironside and "Fresh Tendrils" by Soundgarden playing in the background*
Stavros
Script and concept-wise this is good stuff, a real departure from the old concept of an X-men series. My problem is with some of the character design and animation. In some places its designed as a very adult show, but in execution it still feels like a kids show. Its not at home with itself like Evolution or the DCAU. That being said I'm definitly watching this, its got some plot ideas that are downright graphic novelish. JackFetch
I'm not a fan of some of the character designs, but I still can't wait to see it.
tglancy
Looked like shit to me. I am sick to death of Wolverine, so I don't think that helps. I will say, however, that the idea of Cyclops living in a seedy apartment tickles me.
Stavros
I actually like the sort of role Wolverine has here. When he's the violent anti-hero I'm less of a fan, but when he is forced to grow up and take reponsibility for himself and others he's a much stronger character, and thats what I'm getting from this. Wolverine actually stepping up and taking care of his people rather than just running off and slicing people up. Not that Enemy of the State and Agent of Shield wasn't a fun arc, its just that it maxed me out on Wolverine slaughter for a long while. Missy
For me, the only part of the trailer I didn't like was the music. Something about it didn't blend well with the clips. Instead of looking like a studio-produced trailer it came off like a poorly produced AMV. (I'm not knocking all AMVs, just the "poorly produced" ones.) Dread
It looks like X-Men Evolution with even worse character design. The premise is cliched and, again, Wolverine extends claws to beat people up without cutting them. The only thing I liked was the music. It didn't fit with the trailer but it was good. Koete
It looks like X-Men Evolution with even worse character design. That was the first thing that popped into my mind. The second was, what the hell is up with Storm's hair?
Dan
I thought it looked halfway decent. I agree that the music in the trailer was out of place, but on the whole I think this could be pretty good. Also, the Angel's in it. So huzzah. The second was, what the hell is up with Storm's hair? Back when there was talk of an X-Men film in grade school (rumors of Eastwood as Wolvie, Arnie as Colossus and best of all: Tina Turner as Storm! This film has it!) Aaron Robinson
Man, an X-men cartoon with a flamboyantly gay Wolverine would be the greatest thing ever. What’s all this hullabaloo about anyway? I can't see any reason why Nickelodeon couldn't make a decent cartoon out of either idea.

The Joker's Groupie
What I mean is that hes going to act dumb. See, the young, hip kids of today use gay as stupid and retarded. i.e. No Heroes until Fall! Thats gay! I think this because its Nick and theres going to be a lot of Jokes and little action. and if he does act gay a new Spongebob!
Missy
First off, don't knock SpongeBob. Second, don't knock SpongeBob. Ever. Third, kids were using "gay" in place of "stupid" when I was a child. Lastly, don't you dare knock SpongeBob! :grumble:
The Joker's Groupie
The Spongebob thing is an in-joke with my friend he visits the forums but doesn't want to join because you guys are sometimes mean. And the gay thing was just a clarification for some people, not naming any names
James D.
We're mean? He must not be a member of any forums except the Nick, Jr. forums then. The only times we're "mean" is when we joke with each other using inside jokes.
