S-T
Beyond the absurdity of a doll killing all these people, they actually did an OK job tying things together. The opening half hour is very confusing, but they do eventually explain what at first seems to be a major plot hole. Specifically: Spoiler How are there so many Chuckys? Honestly, this series would be better off rebooted, as it suffers from the same problem as the Transformers movies. At some point, the existence of Chucky would be public knowledge, especially 30 years after the first movie. There has been far too much carnage for this to not be known to everyone. Granted, it's not as bad as a city being destroyed, but the ability to suspend disbelief about this being a secret has long ago expired. There's going to be camp in a movie about a doll that kills people. The concept itself is very campy. But it was nice to see some of the outright silliness of some of the later movies done away with. They actually tried to make it scary. Did they succeed? Well... No. But the effort was there. 30 years. Wow. The first one came out nearly 30 years ago. I am an old man.
