MaxPower
It depends on what purpose I was buying it for. If I am a devoted comic book fan and want it for my collection, why should it matter if I'm getting it at a bargain. To all those people saying they would take the morale high ground, does that mean that you pay full retail price for everything or do you shop around for the best price? This is no different. If however you were buying it for the pure reason of selling it to the closest comic book guy or eBay, then it's fifty/fifty what I would do. I'd like to think I would perhaps buy it at the asking price, sell it and then return to the place and give the guy 50% of the profit, just to help balance it out. Dread
The way I see it, prices are set by the seller. They set whatever they think they can get for a certain item. It is their responsibility in the same way that it would be my responsibility to pay for something that has a price higher than I'm willing to pay. The only other reason I would offer to pay a higher price is if it is for charity and that's only if I had cash to spare (which I rarely do).
