JackFetch
That hit me right in the nostalgia feels. It's going to be an amazing experience seeing this in the theater.
KnightWing
When I heard that the new video was just BTS footage, I was a little bummed. Not like we haven't seen eighty billion spy photos of the set by this point. But when I actually watched the video I almost got choked up. It looks so good. JackFetch
JJ Abrams says that Kylo Ren, the bad guy wielding a red lightsaber isn't a sith. The bad guys are called The First Order, and they are old members of the Empire and fans of it. Think Neo Nazis if they actually got any power. Kylo Ren is a member of the order of the Knights of Ren. Supreme Leader Snoke is his master. Abrams compared the First Order to what might have happened if all the Nazis that fled to South America regrouped and tried again.

Delete
Aftermath has leaked A few things of interest. Ahsoka Tano recruited Wedge into the rebellion in the new canon. There are scenes on Jakku and Tatooine. In the Tatooine one the Jawas are selling the junk from the destroyed Jabba's barge. Some guy ends up picking up Boba Fett's armor and declares that law has returned to Tatooine and appoints himself sheriff. The New Republic has been set up on Chandrilla with Mon Mothma as head of the new Senate. She wants to cut the military by 90% so something like the Clone War can't happen. Her advisers tell her it will only lead to more wars. Sounds like why there is a resistance fighting the First Order and not the New Republic. There is some mysterious Fleet Commander in command of the last Super Star Destroyer pulling strings. As for TFA this passage seems the most important. Tashu (one of the Emperor's advisors) - "No Sith remains. And the lone Jedi that exists--the son of Anakin Skywalker--possesses an untouchable soul. At least for now. We must instead move towards the dark side. Palpatine felt that the universe beyond the edges of our map was where his power came from. Over the many years he, with our aid, sent men and women beyond known space. They built labs and communication stations on distant moons, asteroids, out there in the wilds. We must follow them. Retreat from the Galaxy. Go out beyond the veil of stars. We must seek the source of the dark side like a man looking for a wellspring of water." Koete
Hey, does anyone want to guess if grown adults that went to toy stores at midnight for products from a movie that doesn't come out until December are crying like fucking babies because they didn't get the toy they wanted? Molly
I'm gonna guess that they are because we are the worst, period, generation, period, ever, period.
Dan
I always try really hard to let nerds do their nerd thing and not get down on it, but toy collectors really have WAY more than their share of whiny assholes.
Koete
I've been the same way, because lord knows I like my share of nerd stuff, but these days my patience is razor-thin.
