Dread
After seeing him in Hannibal it isn't so hard.
dc20willsave
Everytime I hear somethingnew about this movie, it makes me more and more excited. It feels like it's going to be more High Fantasy than a Comic Book movie.
JackFetch
It starts filming in January.
Stavros
Boo the lack of Brian Blessed but I've no problem with Hopkins. Its just a progression of his role as Hrothgar in Beowulf.
Molly
I'm glad it's not Brian Blessed, and I'm probably the only one. But there is something so inherently hilarious about Brian Blessed. He's this wild-eyed, bearded mad man. I mean, I think he's great and all, but he's not Odin. JackFetch
I mean, I think he's great and all, but he's not Odin. He's so Valstogg though:

JackFetch
They originally cast Zachary Levi from Chuck in the movie but he had to pull out: And it's a longer season than they initially thought: NBC originally asked for a 13-episode third season, and then ordered six more. That turned out to be a positive for Chuck but a negative for director Kenneth Branagh's movie Thor, which starts filming in January. Levi was cast as Fandral, one of Thor's Warriors Three in the comic book adaptation, and the actor had even been working out especially for the role, but had to walk away when they got the extra pickup. (Levi admits that producers had asked him to audition for the role of the usually beefy God of Thunder, but told them no. "I'm tall and in pretty good shape, but I'm not big and girthy like that," he says.) http://superherohype.com/news/thornews.php?id=8830 At least we now know the Warriors Three will be in it. JackFetch
"Thor" helmer Kenneth Branagh has locked Stuart Townsend, Ray Stevenson, and Tadanobu Asano to play Warrior's Three, a trio of Asgardian adventurers who fight alongside the Norse god in the Marvel Entertainment drama. http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118011469.html?categoryid=13&cs=1 Stuart Townsend = Fandral Ray Stevenson = Volstagg Tadanobu Asano = Hogun
Stavros
Wait, the Punisher is Volstagg? Lestat/Dorian Grey is Fandral? Hattori from Zatoichi is Hogun? There is some weird casting going on here.
Molly
I'm always happy to see Ray Stevenson get work, but... really?
JackFetch
This is Stevenson's 3rd Marvel themed project in two years. He played Punisher in the Marvel Super Hero Squad Show and the second movie.
KnightWing
He played Punisher in the Marvel Super Hero Squad Show... I don't really think that that counts as a "project," though. Voice work is very very minor stuff unless it's a big recurring role. Even famous voice actors do many jobs at once, because each job, no matter how big, is ultimately tiny in the scheme of things. The fact that he's also the live-action Punisher (and a great one at that) is kind of odd, though. I worry a little that he'll be too recognizable. Then again, that's probably because I'm one of the ten people in the world that loved Punisher: War Zone.
MaxPower
I really like Stuart Townsend so another reason for me anticipating this movie....
JackFetch
Kat Dennings will play Darcy, who works with Natalie Portman's character, Jane Foster. I was watching a movie with her in it the other day. She is fucking hot. edit: The movie was Charlie Bartlett.
Dread
I agree that she's hot but I don't give a shit about a character who works with Jane Foster. That sounds like bad news to me. NO ONE CARES ABOUT JANE FOSTER.

NO ONE CARES ABOUT JANE FOSTER. I care about Jane Foster. I guess that makes me no one, then. I think she does a lot to add to the character of Donald Blake, who, in turn, "humanizes" Thor. Dread
Well maybe they will make a movie about Jane and the girls she works with and you can go see that one. I want to see Thor fighting a Frost Giant.
JackFetch
First rule in filmaking. There has to be a love interest no matter how much action there is. I can't wait to see how they put a love story in the Deadpool movie
Missy
Hasn't Deadpool had love interests in the comic? I think I recall him having a thing with Siryn.
Molly
He's stalked Siryn for years, and there have been others. There was that shape-shifter who pretended to be Domino.
Stavros
He had a really cool thing going with Black Widow II in his T-bolts crossover until a later storyline completely nullified it. Personally I hope we can escape that with this one. I don't really have a problem with Wade crushing on a girl in this though. He does that regularly, its part of his schtick, lets just not pretend that he can have an actual relationship. We don't need a Roger Rabbit/Jessica Rabbit deal in the film. Dread
Under the best of circumstances, the Thor film should be the precursor to and war of Ragnarok leading to Mjolnir being jettisoned to Earth where it is found by Blake at the very end. Make Sif the love interest if they have to.
JackFetch
Due to Spider-Man 4's problems, Thor has taken it's release date. It will now come out May 6th 2011. If Sony gets back on schedule, Thor will move to a different date.
