SuaveStar
So let me get this straight. Ha, I said let... Everyone has someone who can drive them to this drunken PowerPoint on cartoon booby’s party but me! That's it; I’m keeping my hidden supply of Granny Goodness cakes for myself! Anyway, on another thought, I think I've made my decision and I'm just going to leave Uni this year and take a break from continuous education till next august, when I hope to do something more suited to me. Until then, I have a few plans, I'm thinking of finding a job, or making a documentary about me going round the country to find the best Greggs the bakers. I just feel that it is in my best interest to settle any money issues now before it gets worse, and to stop paying for a course I have no interest in doing and only bitch about. Also, I received a sort of offer from my old college to go back there, I may take them up on it, as they do more of an overview of media and not just one crappy subject. I am going to speak to my head lecturer and explain my situation to her and thank her for what I have learned on the course. I will however be staying on for a few more weeks as I have a group project that needs to be done, and I'm the only person in my group who knows how to really use final cut editing software and it's only fair that I settle that before I leave. Also, earlier in this thread, I said I bought my first pack of cigarettes and never really smoked before, well instead of smoking them i just through the fucking things into the clyde, all they'd do is cost me more money, I don't even think smoking looks cool, unless Jeff Bridges is doing it. Well, I guess that's the end of that. For now, I went out and got a large pepperoni pizza and a few cans of irn Bru and I am going to watch a film or Father Ted and just have fun for the first time in ages, but first I'm going to create a new thread on something that I thought of earlier today when looking at my comic collection. I'm also getting rid of my beard/goatee attempt that I've had for a few months, it's run it's course. Well, that's all that I can think of right now. The only problem is telling my family that I f-d up another career choice seeing as failing as an actor went down so well....
Dread
Am I out of line for being depressed about the fact that in India, people are being killed by gunmen roaming the streets and in America, fat people are killing Wal-Mart employees for standing in between them and a cheap slow cooker? James D.
Um...Wal-Mart had nothing to do with the person being trampled to death other than that the person was wearing their uniform. It was the fault of the fucknuts who, you know, TRAMPLED OVER the person. God, I hate Black Friday.
Missy
When I still worked at Best Buy, one Black Friday I was crushed between a ladder (one of those huge ones on wheels) and a pole as the deal-hungry customers rushed in. :grumble:

Erin B.
As for me, I don't work in retail anymore, but to Des's other point, I'm almost afraid to watch the news anymore. I don't want to hear about all this shit that people do to each other. I can go without hearing about countless deaths, mob mentalities, and hate at the end of my day. Where do these hateful people fucking come from? Makes you wish that we had Phantom Zone projector, then we could get rid of these hate filled fuckers and never, EVER let them out. Erin B.
I still watch the news, to at least be informed. Who knows world peace might be declared (which has a snowball's chance in hell of happening anytime soon). I don't understand why the people (these the people who get caught in the crossfire of these conflicts) of the world banned together and say with one voice "This stops NOW!" When the people speak, the world listens (in theory anyway). Fuck! Now I'm depressed. I need a hug.
SuaveStar
As I've said before, I'm a journalism student(..well I guess ex now) who doesn't read the papers except for dear deidre in the sun, or watch the news and couldn't give two shits about society today. I believe the term is irony. DCAU was the documentary the one on wal-mart about the crap security and the woman gettin attacked outside because of no security cameras? It's a good documentary, what's odd is that over here ASDA are owned by Wal-mart and they don't seem to be half as bad. Sorry for being the bastard now, but no one really listens to anyone else anymore, to nick a line from fight club and totally ruin it: "Why do you come to these meetings?" "Because it feels good to actually talk and have people listen instead of just waiting for their turn to speak." Also i think Dan said it best when he said: Boston DanStay away from my werthers originals!

I'll second that. A running gag is fine but I'm not a fan of making fun of a guy persistantly when its based on something thats a fact of life. Besides Dan's putting a lot into the site these days and I'm glad we have someone stepping up to do so much. I know it wasn't mean-spirited but its run its course. SuaveStar
Oh I'm not badmouthing Dan. As I've said before I am a big fan of his articles on the site and his Doctor who marathon almost made me watch the show and pick up a few episodes, wheras before I would watch it if it was on and I couldn't be bothering reaching the remote. Also Dan with his quantum leap season five lookback made me remember how much I loved that show and I went out a few days later and got season one to watch and sat through it right away after not seeing the show for years. So if anyones a fan of Dan and what he does and in no way is trying to make fun of him, dammit it's me. But yeah, I couldn't think of any other Dan jokes, so i'm going to let it pass now. I guess I should move onto my next thing.....careerless unemployed guy.....change....anyone spare some change for a careerless unemployed guy.....I can write you a musical about old ladies..... Guest DCAUFan1051
Don't worry, guys! There's always fat jokes! And, uh, wow. Thanks. werthers Originals ROCK the house!!!!!!! I wanna try the chewy ones though and besides everyone I know from Boston grew up on them even me. Well I'm back from my excursions I got all my DVD's outta hauck and everything the cab ride from the bank to home only cost $6.20 I was shocked considering it took me 30mins to walk to the fucking bank. And out of the DVD's I have gotten back I'm only gonna sell 2 sets if anyones interested. (oops I'll post those in the shameless self promotion forum) I'm a little winded at the moment. and lost my mind on what I was saying until I read it thanks all for wishing my mom well.... I hope she gets better soon I need my driver (I know that's selfish but oh well) AND NO SUAVE my chauffer must have a legal license to drive not a license to kill

James D.
 And honestly, the only truly shitty thing about Wal-Mart is the hideously long lines because they NEVER FUCKING HAVE ENOUGH REGISTERS OPEN. I swear, any time my friends and I are playing Xbox until 3am and we need to run up to Wal-Mart for provisions, there are STILL mile-long lines even in the middle of the night.
Erin B.
I won't go to Wal-Mart even if I need to make a run to the store at an un-godly hour. Thank goodness for a 24 hour Carrs-Safeway less than a mile from my house.
SuaveStar
Ah ASDA, you may be the UK's wal-mart, literally, but at least we know that.....ph wait I have to put up with the same shit.
Dan
I will buy things from the guy in the North End selling them out of the trunk of his car before I will buy them from Walmart. They're just dirty, scuzzy, incompentently run shitholes with terrible employees and zero attention paid to the flow of traffic within the store itself. If there's anything I hate, it's wading through the wall of humanity so I can get at the Big Mo' display on the other side.
