Catwoman

Recommended Posts

I just watched eight clips from Catowoman. What follows are snippets of dialog, and general things that make little to no sense.

-- "I'm sorry!" "Sorry's not nearly enough." "Okay. Well, let me try the remix. I'm sorry for every second I wasted working for an untalented, unethical, egomaniac like you!"

-- She just so happens to have a box of leather clothing that reads: Open in case of dating emergency.

-- She takes out a heavy metal/biker gang with seltzer water.

-- She enters a bustling club, kicks some dude out the door, and proceeds to fight him. Oddly, no one follows them out.

---- In the same clip, she grabs the guy's tongue and asks, you guessed it, "Cat got your tongue?"

-- "It was me you flushed down the pipes."

-- "No, my advice to you... George, quite the self-tanning, stop eating Viagra like they're vitamins, resist the urge to date children born the same day they invented the cell phone. For once, George, in your miserable life... be a man!"

---- NOTE: Cell phone technology was conceptualized in 1947 and first used in 1973.

So...has anyone seen this yet? Anyone? Bueller?

After looking at the weekend box office numbers, it would appear that no one saw the movie. (Frankly, I'll see it but don't want to pay full price.)

Catwoman wasn't that good of a character to begin with-possibly the weakest Batman villain. Like Venom, turning her into a hero(ine) was a terrible, terrible idea.

Pfeifer did a good job of making her stand out in the old movie, but Halle Berry won't be able to do the same job Pfeifer did. Furthermore, it looks like even the stuido didn't put much effort into the film, judging by the terrible CG scenes. (In the previews. And really, previews schowcase the best parts of the film, and if those are the best...ugh)

If there was any doubt that Catwoman was a bomb, let it be gone! In the one week since its release, Catwoman has earned $29.8 million worldwide. Not only that, but its box office numbers have fallen by 63.6% in one week. In that it has become the 100th biggest 2nd weekend drop ever.

Not only will come nowhere near the $100 million budget, but it's still shy of the $35 million it cost to market this heap. I truly hope Warner Bros. has learned something from this, and tweaks Constantine before its February release.

No more heroes for Halle

Halle Berry's told us how playing the part of Catwoman helped her with decisions about her personal life.

The film was being made whilst the star was in the process of splitting up from her second husband Eric Benet.

She says putting on a leather cat suit made her feel strong and powerful, but now it's over, she's not sure about playing any more superheroes:

"After playing Storm in 'X-Men' and now Catwoman, I think my comic book hero days are probably over."

"That's unless I was lucky enough to play Catwoman again. I would love to do that. But other than that, I think I've pretty much done it."

(source)

I seriously hate this woman. Her role as Storm wasn't big enough, so she's pouted her way out of the third X-film, she's won an Oscar and so her ego's exploded, and now, once Catwoman has bombed, she's done with the genre.

As for her comment about coming back to Catwoman -- bullshit. When a film doesn't even come close to breaking even, there's no chance for a sequel and she knows it. It's her polite, Hollywood way of not admitting it sucks.

Not to go off topic, but she didn't even deserve that Oscar too. She isn't even a good actor, and the only reason she won the Oscar, in my opinion, was because Denzel won best actor. Denzel Washington deserved his Oscar, he is a great actor, but they only gave Halle one so the could hype it up as the first time two black people have won best actor and actress.

I'm glad she is done with Comic movie's, I wouldn't want to see her in another one anyways.

Good. Storm fucking sucks. More time for Colossus. I wish.

Off topic. It's a shame they had to shamelessly snub Russel for the award though.

Halle leaving X-Men? Good. She sucked at the part (though they didn't give her much to work with.)

No to stay off topic, but CRAP. Denzel did not deserve that Oscar. He should have got one for Hurricane or Malcolm X. It was a travesty when he won it, made more so by Julia 'overated' Roberts saying it was worthy.

The academy has a history of giving the award to actors who play handicapped or disabled characters, yet in that year there were 3 (Russel Crowe, Sean Penn, Ed Harris) yet none of them received the gong. If Forest Gump deserved an Oscar, so did Crowe.

Halle and Denzel both got their Oscars as a politcal statement after S11, to show the world that America was open and accepting to all races. Anyone that thinks otherwise is deluding themselves.

Back to the topic. Halle, die die die. You haven't done anything worth talking about. the most press you ever got was accepting $1million for showing your tits. Stay away from my screen

Stone wanted to kiss Berry in Catwoman

03/08/2004 - 19:39:23

Sharon Stone blames US President George W Bush for the absence of a lesbian kissing scene in Catwoman - because of the current conservative climate in America.

Basic Instinct star Stone, 46, was keen to enjoy an intimate moment with Oscar-winning co-star Halle Berry, but believes a puritanical streak running through the country put an end to any potential girl-on-girl action.

Stone says: "Halle's so beautiful and I wanted to kiss her. I said, 'How can you have us in the movie and not have us kiss? That's such a waste.'

"That's what you get for having George Bush as president."

DAMN YOU BUSH! WHEN WILL YOU LEARN!?!

Stone's on crack. One look at cable television right now will tell you Bush's conservative beliefs had nothing to do with it. I'll tell you why it didn't happen: By slapping a PG-13 rating on it Warner Bros. was trying to draw in the family crowd, and they didn't want the parental backlash. It's all on WB, not GWB. (Damn her for making me defend Bush!)

Yeah, but it's like Leno said last night, nobody would have seen it anyway because it was in Catwoman!

Here's one of these for Leno: :respect:

And they needed it to be PG-13 so they could get teen boys in addition to men. Problem is, they based the entire reason to see the film on Halle Berry wearing next to nothing. From what I've read, they forgot to make a movie to go with the skimpy costume.

Granted, I haven't seen the movie, and don't really plan to. The box office numbers give me reason enough not to.
