dc20willsave
Looks like I'm either livestreaming or having a visit from the internet fairy because even with knowing that I would probably have someplace to stay in Chicago, Megabus is just a little out of my price range right now with tickets. Stavros
Argh! The crappy Cineworld chain has Doctor Who tickets available but the much better Vue cinemas do not. This is mad annoying. edit ARGH! Now they're doing a slow roll-out of cinemas you can book from! Seemingly going north to south. Probably not driving to Preston for this. edit again Booked. AWESOMENESS.
Kathryn Slater
Tickets booked - couldn't get the cinema I wanted because of a problem with thier website but I didn't want to risk going back to find they had no tickets. So I'm seeing it in the centre of Cardiff instead, which means we have to leave the experience a bit earlier to get across town. But I don't really care cause it's all sorted now and I can stop worrying and ranting and just work on my costume
Dan
Tickets acquired. Again, the ideal theater wasn't available (not sure if it sold out of if the website was wonky, as it sounds like it's been kind of weird for people), but I am going. Now I just need to figure out what I'm doing for the 23rd, as I don't have BBC America anymore...

Dan
I'm not. The theater is in the center of Bsoton.
Stavros
Ah good, glad that worked out. It's actually going to be pretty cool with so many of us watching at the same time the world over. We get to compare various rowdiness of cinemas! Ten points to the person who spots the best cosplay.
Dan
In America, the theatrical showing is on Monday evening. However, BBC America is still airing it Saturday simultaneously with the BBC.
Venneh
The non 3D simulcast is what's on Monday. The one that has fewer theatres in the States is the simulcast. And either way it's nowhere near me.
Dan
Ah, yes, Hannah. I had forgotten about that. Incidentally, Fathom Events (the company doing the Monday night simulcast) is clearly not ready for the stampede. Their website keeps going down, people are spending 3D money for what turns out to be 2D tickets, and theaters keep getting shuttered as "sold out" and then reopened minutes later. They clearly do not have the infrastructure to handle this much traffic; they usually do opera and theater simulcasts, and I would wager the Rifftrax events are the biggest things they've had going up till now. People are very confused about whether they're getting in or not.
dc20willsave
The nice thing is if you have a theater that supports Fandango. Its a ton easier and set up better than Fathom's site.
JasonC
I too managed to get tickets. I have to drive half an hour to the cinema, but I do that every day for work anyway. Although if I hadn't moved, I could have have taken a bus at the bottom of my road that would have taken 10 minutes to get there...

Yup, from the Facebook group of Doctor Who fans of Canada I'm in, that was about the same here with the Cineplex Events section as well. The screening will be on my Birthday (25th) so IF I can get tickets sorted I'll be spending it there but I have not the foggiest idea what I'll do in the down time between the 23rd and then. Ask for more hours at work? Sleep? Go to a Casino? Camp at the theatre and watch Wolf of Wallstreet and Thor over and over? Staying away from what is basically EVERYTHING I look at on the internet may prove to be a challenge. -Skyler

Dan
I don't have the link handy, but apparently Capaldi is signed to a one year deal (with an option to renew) only, and Series Eight will be split into two again.
Missy
A one-year Doctor is not a bad idea (especially if he's dark), but I'm tired of split seasons.
Dan
Agreed. The wait, honestly, helps build the excitement, but how can we miss you if you don't go away? Six weeks isn't enough time to build a head of steam.
