What are you watching and enjoying?

Recommended Posts

The first few minutes were dull, and felt like it was going to rip off the titanic main point and working toward it ideal, and the side on camera and frequent cuts got on my nerves. The overuse of quick cuts was one of the many reasons I though Steve Carrell's Get Smart was fucking awful. But the second the kid jamp into the sewage, I was sold on how awesome this movie was.

Anyway, I just finished it, and it really is as good as everyone says it is.

Great movie, don't think I'll watch it again though, as it's the sort of movie I feel you get an emotional attachment to, and once you've seen it once, you can't get back into it. But that could just be, I mean, I want the best of both worlds, while still being able to bitch about not getting a third choice as well.

The end were it called back into the musketeers thing could've been stupid, but they made it work, by never mentioning his name.

Rio Bravo: John Wayne, Dean Martin and Ricky Nelson. One of the Duke's best movies and just a ton of fun. And any excuse to get Dean Martin singing is appriciated.

Castle, Episode One.

Just finished watching the first season of Castle. Great show, definitely knows how to hook you for the next season.

TV binges are fun.

I watched cloverfield for the first time yesterday.

I hated it, what a boring crap movie, that had nothing interesting, and a horrible Gears Of War rip off monster.

The characters were bland to me, and it just felt like the blair witch project, with a budget and updated, without not actually showing the monster.

The mini monsters were obviously a homage to Starship Troopers. Though they were freaky.

One of my favourite films of whatever year it came out. Cloverfield is a really neat presentation of the monster movie, its not perfect but its innovative and engrossing.

Ok. I'm just saying I didn't enjoy it. But it was innovative, though not as good as I was hoping.

Don't worry, its fine that you didn't like it, I just wanted to say that I did.

Ok.

I just felt like it was a big budget Blair Witch, without cutting corners, with leaving the bug bad to your imagination.

Also, South Parks take ruined it for me, as I saw that first, and that monster really startled Randy.

South Park tends to do that. I've only just started to enjoy Family Guy against after that whole Cartoon Wars deal.

I'm currently watching the second season of Torchwood, and so far it's much stronger than the first. The acting is a little dodgy at point, especially when John Barrowman tries to get serious and contemplative, and sometimes the stories feel a little rushed and cluttered, but overall it's solid.

I think the reason Torchwood got better between season one and two is that it changed networks and couldn't get away with as much. I've found if I get a paper with no real guidelines and one with guidelines, the one with is the one I'm going to do better on because I know how many pages to shoot for, have a possible topic, and there's less of a chance of veering completely off-topic. That and we've become introduced to the characters so we already know where they're coming from. There are a few hiccup episodes but it's the same truth as Doctor Who or Sarah Jane.

Wasn't it's initial channel BBC3?

Cause I'm pretty sure it stayed BBC2 and BBC3.

I would say it is able to push out more as it would have been a proven commodity and was a show in it's own right, and not just a Who spin off. Also the second season could've been more controlled by the execs at the BBC.

You almost wonder whether Torchwood Series #1 was deliberately juvenile because it was exclusive to BBC3. I generally have a lot of time for the BBC, but I hate that channel only slightly less than E4 and the entire ITV network.

Due to something I'm preparing for another website, I sat down and watched 8 of the TV spin-off episodes of the British Carry On movie franchise. And whilst I maintain a love for the films, you can pretty much stop at 1969 and forget it ever continued into the seventies and beyond. For the record, these TV shows aired in 1975, which should sum up the overall enjoyment factor.

I watched it mostly on Hulu, I liked what I saw of it.

...Which reminds me, I should catch up on that one of these days.

Are you saying your not a fan of Britains youngest mum versus the entire conservative party's got talent team?

I'm joking but just.

Anyway, BBC3 has good shows like the Real Hustle and could make good shows, if it didn't specialise in car crash tv.

On torchwood, from what I rememeber of it's initial debut was "It's like Dr Who, made sexy"

I swear I would still be a fan today if they had a trailer with the guy from True Lies narrating the trailer and saying "No, no. Do it more sexy"

When I first saw it my first thought was that it was Angel but gay. Gangel. Those early episodes owe more to Buffy and Angel than anything Doctor Who ever did but still missed the point. The writers somehow thought the lack of charm and intrigue would be compensated for by as much penetration as could be legally shown.

I'm not anti-gay relationships on TV, but rewatching Buffy recently makes me realise how hard that show worked to have its lesbians. Willow and Tara were a couple for a year before they kissed on screen (and that was part of a very depressing scene about death), and it was another year before they even started to imply any further action (and even then they were fully clothed).

Torchwood is scrawling invites on a bathroom stall by comparison, it really cheapens almost all relationships on the show.

Yip, which is why i jamp off after episode two. They played back to back the first two the first night, so I lasted one day.
