A.Logan
Now all we need is his own animated series, with the VA from X-Men, and we're set.
Cash
I must have totally missed the report that said Jackman was going to play Wolverine in X-3. I'm so freaking pumped!
Missy
I must have totally missed the report that said Jackman was going to play Wolverine in X-3. I'm so freaking pumped! Most of the cast signed a three movie deal. In the case of Jackman, however, he's always said that he would love to do a standalone Wolverine film on top of the other X flicks. James D.
What storyline do you think they will choose to do, though? Weapon X? Omega Red? Sabretooth? Yuriko? There's so many, pretty much any of them would be great.
Darque Edge
If they're smart, they'll go for the Weapon X one, since they've made references to it already in the movies. Plus, hey, it's pretty much the best Wolverine story out there.
J Marv
I don't think they'll do Sabretooth, James. They didn't appear to have any history in the first X-Men movie. Im doubting they do Yuriko, too, since they kinda pissed Deathstrike away in X-2. That leaves us with Weapon X and Omega Red. I'm inclined to say Weapon X, since Omega Red would be hard to present in a live-action movie. Though, Omega Red would have to include much of the Weapon X setup anyway, and a Weapon X movie would probably have some appearance of Omega Red, even if it was just a quick brutal fight to demonstrate Wolverine's loyalty to his teammates or something. Missy
Well, both X-Men and X2 have mentioned Weapon X, so it fits to reason that X3 will do more of the same. Assuming they don't blow the lid off the entire story and make that the focus of X3, Weapon X makes the most sense.
Blane
I'm hoping for Omega Red out of personal bias. Any of the them will kick tons of ass.
Missy
Lauren Shuler Donner: The plan is to do more of an origin story for Wolverine. The first one. If that’s successful, my deepest desire – I’m not reflecting Fox but you never know – my deepest desire is after the origin story, which David has worked out beautifully, it’s really good – if that works, the second one could be the Mariko, ninja story. S-T
That leaves us with Weapon X and Omega Red. I'm inclined to say Weapon X, since Omega Red would be hard to present in a live-action movie. Why? They did well with Dr. Octopus in Spider-Man 2, so it seems they could pull off OR. They came up with a rather sensible reason for Doc Ock to have the arms, but I cannot even begin to conceive how they would ever translate Omega Red. Fat DJ
Color me crazy, but isn't that explained in the comic books?

Cheap Heat
Doesn't he need the arms so that he can use his mutant powers without harming himself?

Missy
Yeah, it is, but I'm saying a character as out there as Red isn't going to translate well to the big screen. And if he doesn't translate well, neither will his origin.
Fat DJ
I dunno, he's a pale Doc Ock with better powers. He'd do fine.
Missy
Doc Ock worked because they made you care about Otto as a person long before he became Spider-Man's nemesis. Duplicating that with Omega Red just doesn't seem possible.
Fat DJ
If he doesn't kill people, he dies. Tell me that isn't open for a sympathetic villain.
A.Logan
If played right, then Omega Red is sympathetic. But why do that? He's supposed to be freakin' lethal and all that jazz. Sure, it creates a better character for the screen...actually nevermind, I like the idea of making him a good character for the screen, because I have to watch the movie and be entertained. Whoops. Missy
Though nothing has been confirmed (besides the writer) concerning the X-Men spin-off, it has been rumored that Len Wiseman (Underwolrd) has been asked to direct. Now let's all cringe in unison.
A.Logan
Oh great. Now if I want the movie to come out on time, I have to call off the bounty I put on his head for Underworld.
