Nicolette Opal
So, this show I help produce, the Windy City Story Slam, is traveling to Philadelphia this weekend with five of it's top storytellers (yours truly included) to compete in a cross-slam competition with Philadelphia's First Person Arts slam troupe. We are performing at the Free Library Festival, on the Bank of America main stage, Saturday, at 5 p.m. If it makes it more enticing, Joyce Carol Oates (!) is reading immediately before our competition (!!!), on the same stage, at 4. If any of you are within a reasonable driving distance and are so inclined, come on out and see the show. We're all telling true life stories. The theme is "mortified." Nicolette Opal
There will be footage (video and still photos), to be sure. There's a YouTube video of me reading the piece I'll be reciting (I have to memorize it). Maybe I'll link, maybe I'll wait until my recital is up. Or I could read it live to ya'll over the Skype
