The account is @ParamountAU They can't be held responsible for people getting upset about something not directed at them because it reminded them of something that happened half a world away. I'm sure we could find examples of this all over the world if we look close enough.

I'm pretty sure the "bad form/poor taste" remarks as much as eminated out of Oz to begin with.

I agree with Jack, it wasn't meant for the US market, so who cares.

KW, that comment about not putting something local/regional on the internet is just plain stupid. There are so many colloquial words, sayings and observations that offend some and not others. But even if you don't mean everything, just marketing and promotions, are you saying that every marketing and PR company should have a complete list of every sensitive topic in ALL 196 countries around the world? So no posters to have train explosions out of respect for London Underground. No posters of plane crashes out of respect for the THREE recent ones. No posters of capsized cruise ships for the Italians and Koreans. And what date is the cut off date for when we can use imagery again? Should we ban any poster that features a car crash because it could offend the family of victims?

I think the definitive factor is that "September 11" was actually written on the thing. A tower blowing up is no big deal, but when it's right next to the "name" of the most famous terrorist attack in American history, it feels like it's in poor taste. I'm not offended by it at all, but I do think it was a little bit stupid for Paramount or Paramount AU to do that.

And it's not like September 11 only has meaning in America because it happened on American soil; the event is known the world over as the September 11 attacks. And yes, when Paramount put up a Twitter post saying, "Hey look, everyone! September 11!" with a picture of an exploding tower, they should have known better.

It was undoubtedly an honest mistake, just a kinda stupid one.

Michael Bay has made 9/11 porn for 13 years. Well, since before it, actually. He's a destruction hipster. Might as well make it explicit.

I guess we've discovered that you can pretend to blow up as many buildings as you want in New York and otherwise, but the moment you put it on an Australian poster, it becomes obscene.

Ok, so I saw it. By no means is it a bad movie. It's a perfectly good popcorn movie. It's also nothing special.

I must have missed something, but when April is telling Whoopie about the turtles, why did she not show them the pictures she took of them? She showed them to the bad guy 3 minutes later.

Also, I think I know why Megan Fox took this role. She's playing herself.

"I want to be a serious actress newswoman"

"Yeah whatever sweetheart, now go jump on that trampoline and look pretty for the cameras"

Saw this yesterday. It was okay. Little boring, but not bad. Just kinda there.

Random thoughts:

The tweaking of the origin works for me. Tying April into it actually helps with her instant acceptance to four giant talking turtles.

Shredder's mask is straight up awesome. But I do not like the rest of the design. Maybe if it were sleeker and more ninja-y, but it just felt too Iron Man-ish.

My main problem is that April is the only person to get any real character development, and even then, not really. I cannot shake it because it is TMNT, but I don't think this movie did a good job of establishing anybody's personalities. Donatello is a nerd because he wears glasses. Okay he is done. Mikey is an idiot. Next! Leonardo is the leader? but that doesn't come across. Even the with the Shredder, I don't get any motivation.

The CG was a little weightless in some of the fight scenes. It noticed it 4-5 times. I never noticed it during Guardians.

About halfway thru I finally figured out what the designs remind me of:

Jim Lee TMNT figures.
