KnightWing
Cumberbatch is playing King Tribble. Now I'm imagining him sitting on a throne in a room full of tribbles, a sneer on his face, occasionally stopping to listen to the squeakings of a tribble on his armrest (his most trusted advisor) and responding to it in English. Maybe he's also wearing a furry hat.
Stavros
Hat? His hair should do! He's what King Tribbles grow into, sprouting legs and arms and leaving the fur as something that looks like hair.
KnightWing
o_o I just figured he killed the last King Tribble and used his pelt as a hat, but that sounds more disturbing.
dc20willsave
And thus, the plot of the film is the Klingon Empire fighting their mortal enemies, The Tribble Imperium.
JackFetch
And thus, the plot of the film is the Klingon Empire fighting their mortal enemies, The Tribble Imperium. That's actually one of the rumors I heard. The Tribbles are taking over the Klingon homeworld. I never laughed so hard. Also, that Tribbles eat Klingons. Missy
I've always loved the deadpan way Worf explains the Klingon / Tribble feud in Deep Space Nine, and then, even better, Odo's response: "Do they still sing songs about The Great Tribble Hunt?" dc20willsave
I'm just imagining a bunch of Tribbles piloting a starship right now. That may be the most awesome image I have ever had in my head.
KnightWing
All they do is chirp at each other, but with subtitles. Cumberbatch is in the command chair, angrily barking out orders.
dc20willsave
The title will be "Star Trek Into Darkness." That is the worst title for a sequel since Breakin 2: Electric Boogaloo. In fact, I would have preferred Star Trek 2 Electric Boogaloo.
Professor
I was hoping for Star Trek 2: The Legend of Curly's Gold myself.

KnightWing
I actually like it a lot. Would have preferred it with a colon between Trek and Into, but it doesn't bother me that much.

KnightWing
Star Trek: Rise of the Lens Flares If "Into Darkness" means less lens flares, I'm all for it. Someone pointed out that since there's no colon in the title, it still could have another subtitle. Star Trek Into Darkness: Into Light Star Trek Into Darkness: Yes, Trek is a Verb, Look It Up Star Trek Into Darkness: Dinosaurs on a Spaceship

Stratofarius
I'm really excited for this one. I recently saw the first one (which got me interested in watching the Star Trek series- wouldn't it be nice if there was a group of people, I don't know, watching every episode of every series and documenting their journey?) and the news that this has Benedict Cumberbatch makes me go squee. Missy
Welcome to the boards, Stratofarius! And there are very loose plans for a Star Trek podcast on this site.
