Dread
Hawk and Dove? Just sayin', people.
Stavros
Of all the people who returned recently they decided to bring back Hank Hall only to have him be a supporting character on a street level B-team? So his long tenure as a major supervillain is forgotten? Its OK that he murdered the original Atom, Doctor Midnite and Hourman? The old Hawkman and Hawkgirl? Dr Fate? Granted most of these didn't take but still, this guy murdered a lot of the original heroes. Oh yeah, and as a black lantern he killed the other Hawk, Doves' sister, which whilst not being his fault must at least cause some bad feeling even in Dove. So can Hawk!

So can Hawk! Hal was 'possessed' or so he claims, so that's his out, even though his character actions at the time were consistent with his own motives and don't really sync up with him being under some malign outside influence, and even if he was he wasn't possessed because he still had control overall. What's Hank Halls excuse? "I was really really angry when Dove died". Get over it dipshit, its not like you're the only one in the DCU to lost someone close. If everyone turned themselves into a time-travelling costumed villain and murdered half a dozen legendary heroes when someone close to them had cartoon X's drawn on their eyes then there wouldn't be much left to the DCU to begin with. This isn't a possession thing, Hank Hall became a bad guy who threatened reality and killed people. If they just resurrected him from his death and he's just Hawk again I see no reason why he's not living out the rest of his unnaturally restored life in the nastiest most hardcore sensory deprivation tank of a prison that DC has to offer. Redemption is not an option, the guy is a psycho. You know what makes this worse? Johns was the guy who wrote a lot of Hank Hall being a villain, and he brought him back. So he must have had something in mind for him, and I can't believe it was THIS. Seems like such a total cop-out.
dc20willsave
Who's to say there won't be repercussions? Simone's not the kind of writer who's going to let a former villain on her team without there being consequences. In fact, some of the best stories do that. Look at Mystique when she was a member of X-Factor in the nineties and a member of the X-Men a couple of years ago. As for his actions as Extant, in JSA they explained that Mordru had faked Dove's death to drive Hank insane and then possessed him. He still did it but he has an out. SuaveStar
Well, I think that Hank will be given some sort of redemption in the series. He'll still be held accountable for his actions, but he will try to reform from them. Also, where the hell is Misfit, I thought she'd be one of the blacked out characters? SuaveStar
Variant for #1 I don't really like it.
Missy
It's not Cliff Chiang's best work, but I do prefer it over the standard cover.
Dread
At least they look heroic rather than polishing the batmobile with their asses.
Venneh
Hm. It's FCBD this weekend. I may have to get it if they have it. At the least I'm going to have to see if they have any of the Secret Sixes that I've missed out on (though I might just wait for the trade on those) and the rest of Blackest Night.
