SuaveStar
...So the current Batman storylines are all invalid to you, then? I haven't been following them all that closely, but I think Dick Grayson is better off and is being more of his own man as Nightwing than he is as the next Batman. I did give the idea of him as Batman a try by reading Battle for the Cowl, but that did nothing for me and my distaste for Grant Morrison's stuff prevents me from continuing to read them, even now that Bruce is back. If you want to read some good Dick Grayson, but hate Morrison, read Scott Snyder's recent Detective issues. They have Dick as Batman, and have been fucking awesome. A good mix of action, and detective work. And if we are all playing arm chair director: then I suggest we just have Batman say you know what, fuck it, I'm just going to just franchise out Batman and have Batmen all over the world, who will be trained like me, they will talk like me, act like me, and just might be the next best thing, but not quite me, cause I'm the real Batman, all you other Batmen are just fake Batmen, so will the real Batman, please stand up, please stand up. That is the entire point of Dick Grayson though. I can't remember which WFP Mike iterated it on (because I've been listening to a TON of them lately), but Grayson is Bruce's heir. Moreso than Damien or Tim. Why Terry is more worthy than any of the current bat-family is a mystery. That hypothetical film plot discussion aside, Tom Hardy has been talking about Bane to annoying British comedian Alan Carr.

MaxPower
Bane breaks Batman. Levitt's character is Bats' replacement. How would that fit in with the overall story arc Nolan has been creating for this Batman? Not disagreeing, just wondering what you think. I think Des was making a joke. Jokes, I get jokes... looks like the old sarcasm meter needs a tune up.
You Know Who
Which interpretation of Selina Kyle do y'all prefer: the jet-setter by day and thief by night, or the street hooker who steals from the rich?
Missy
They can be one and the same, though she'd have to be a high-price escort and not a street walker. As an escort, she could seduce rich men, get them to reveal where they keep their valuables, then steal them later. Now, the reason I say she can't have been / be a street walker is because those women lead violent, drug-addicted lives. Anyone who's ever driven past a real hooker will tell you this. So if Selina was a hooker, it would show; she wouldn't be able to pass for a high society gal, not even if she cleaned up her life.
KnightWing
That's the one part of Batman: Year One that I've never liked. Selina being a street prostitute just doesn't jive with her character.

Selina being a street prostitute just doesn't jive with her character. I sort of disagree; it's more likely she would get combat experience as a street hooker than as a debutante, since she'd probably have a few run-ins with muggers and pimps. She'd still probably need someone to train her and refine her skills so that she could hold on her own against Batman for more than thirty seconds. Her living such a life would also give her a motivation for stealing from the rich than if she was just well-off the begin with. That being said, I quite like Mike's idea, though I'm not sure they could get away with having a prostitute be a pivotal character in a film that a lot of kids are gonna see. Whatever interpretation they use would be better than the mousy secretary of Batman Returns.
