KnightWing
Because we totally need another version of WW done by a guy who doesn't understand the character beyond "she's a sex symbol."
dc20willsave
Because we totally need another version of WW done by a guy who doesn't understand the character beyond "she's a sex symbol." Except it's Christina Hendricks. I'm gay and I know that's hot.
Venneh
I will gladly spend money to look at Hendricks in the WW costume for two hours.
SuaveStar
I will gladly spend money to look at Hendricks in the WW costume for two hours. To photoshop! I know I've had some get rich schemes in the past. But this is totally different. This will make me rich, and quick.
Molly
I love Hendricks, I do. And i'd watch the shit out of that flick, but i'm not sure that's the best casting.
Venneh
Is she a bit overly curvy? Yes. But having seen her play Joan in Mad Men, I think she's got the depth for Diana.
Stavros
Yeah, Wonder Woman is tall dark hair and athletic. Maybe someone like Angelina Jolie could have overcome the casting issues (10 years ago) but I can't think think of many great candidates for a big screen version. Sorry Christina, but I'm sure this is more just industry gossip than an actual project with a shot at happening.
KnightWing
I really think they'd need a relative unknown.
Guest
Hendricks is the new Fillion. If Eve Torres could act at all, she'd be perfect.
Molly
...Fillion doesn't have those tits.
MaxPower
Please don't start the Torres conversation again. If Lohan could get her shit together, I'd back her for wonder woman. And yes, I'm serious.
Guest
I didn't even know there was a Torres conversation before, other than probably mentioning in passing that she looked a lot like Wonder Woman. She can't act worth a damn, but I really have no faith or interest in this, so they can do whatever.
MaxPower
Wrong Torres, my bad. I read Eve but my brain processed Gina.
KnightWing
Wrong Torres, my bad. I read Eve but my brain processed Gina. Don't worry. First place my mind went was B'Elanna Torres from Star Trek Voyager.
You Know Who
If Hendricks' voice and demeanor as Lois Lane is what she usually brings to her roles (I've never seen Mad Men), she is SO the wrong choice for a fierce Amazon princess, regardless of her...assets. KnightWing
I kinda think there needs to be a balance between gentleness and ferocity for Diana. If it's all ferocity, we'll just get Xena.

If it's all ferocity, we'll just get Xena. That's very true, but from Hendricks' voice I'm not sure she could bring out the latter quality. Dread
As far as Hendricks goes, she's a great set of tits and a curvy body stuffed into too tight dresses. From what I've seen of her in the first few episodes of Madmen, there's nothing in her acting that makes her anything but eye candy. She's easily the flattest voice actress I can remember hearing too.
Stavros
Hendricks does have something in her performance, I've seen it in non-Mad Men stuff. Joan in that show is kind of a bitch, at first it is a one-note performance. Does improve though, and I don't blame Hendricks.
Molly
She's a fine enough actress, all wrong for Diana, though. She'd be perfect as a Palmiotti/Gray style Power Girl.
dc20willsave
The first Wonder Woman will take place in the 1920s, a theoretical sequel will take place during World War 2, and the a theoretical Three-quel will be the modern age. Dread
20s? Crazy. Interested to see where they go. Has there ever been a superhero movie set in the 20s?

JackFetch
I don't think there has ever been any interest in one set in the 20s. To be honest, I can't think of any reason to get excited for this movie based on the time period. This is my personal opinion, but the 20s were pretty boring compared to the decades surrounding it. It will be interesting to see the story they come up with.
Dan
A superhero movie set during Prohibition/the Jazz Age? Yes, I would like to subscribe to that newsletter.
