SuaveStar
I wasn't super-high on Watchmen until later when I gave it some thought. It definitely robs the reader of the emotional climax that most comics give. It's great, but it doesn't live up to the hype, if I remember correctly is what I thought. Frankly if any comic could live up to the hype of Watchmen it would impregnate you the second you opened to page one.

Molly
...The ending had been set up, all through the book. It's brilliant.

Koete
It's referring to Larsen's "all female jury" comment from a few weeks back.

Venneh
Back on page 96, talking about the Gaiman v. McFarlane case. And now, for your.... enjoyment, even more reasons why OMIT is one of the worst things to be put on paper this year! That's right, folks. Unless you have babies, marriage means nothing! KnightWing
That's right, folks. Unless you have babies, marriage means nothing! I was actually kind of liking MJ's reasoning up until that point. But, I mean, really? Marriage means nothing? Bull.
Venneh
I'm not so much of a fan of the whole being Spiderman = emotional abuse on the level of MJ's father reasoning.
KnightWing
I took it more as the usual "the people Peter loves get shot/thrown off a bridge."
Missy
Honestly, my grandmother firmly believes that "marriage means nothing" without babies. So though I don't think MJ would say it, some people have that belief.
Venneh
I mean, it's understandable (even if that position infuriates me, especially since I don't know if I ever want to have kids), but just... MJ is the last person who I could see espousing ANY of those viewpoints.
prez
I hated that whole damn issue. Fuck that storyline.

KnightWing
It's funny how people judge everything Quesada's ever done by that one story. They forget that he's been the EIC of Marvel since 2000, and oversaw all of Marvel's great stories from the past decade.
Koete
Was Quesada involved in the creation of lines and the bringing in of talent responsible for some of the greatest comics of the decade? Yes he was, I won't argue that. But for me, I'm going to remember him for making the Spider-Man marriage a personal dragon to slay before I think of any of that. You always remember the bad shit people do, before the good, especially when the bad shit has the phrase "It's magic, we don't need to explain it." Molly
Somehow, Hannah and I got to talking about Cyclops' father, Corsair, today. My description is, and I quote: "He's pretty much Han Solo with a Tom Selleck 'stache." EDIT: Another gem of mine on the subject: "I'm still fascinated with how much Cable's Grandfather looks like a gay pornstar."
KnightWing
That's basically how I always thought of him. Good one.
