JackFetch
Variety reports that Locke & Key has been given a full series order by Fox, who will air the show as an hourlong genre drama. Steven Spielberg, who was previously attached as a producer, is no longer involved with the adaptation of the Joe Hill comic book series. Distributed by IDW Publishing, Locke & Key tells of Keyhouse, an unlikely New England mansion, with fantastic doors that transform all who dare to walk through them... and home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all. Alex Kurtzman, Robert Orci and Josh Friedman (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles) will write and produce. http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/106537-locke-a-key-gets-a-full-series Hear that sound? That's the sound of a Fox executive planning to cancel it already.
Koete
Fox is getting a jump on pilot orders, giving a greenlight to the adaptation of graphic novel 'Locke and Key' from DreamWorks TV and exec producers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The project had already been given a series commitment from Fox, but this now cements the plan to shoot a pilot. Hourlong is being adapted by scribe Josh Friedman, who created "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" for Fox. Twentieth Century Fox TV is producing along with DreamWorks TV and Kurtzman and Orci's K.O. Paper Products banner. DreamWorks' Justin Falvey and Darryl Frank are exec producing along with K.O.'s Kurtzman, Orci and Heather Kadin. Friedman and IDW Publishing's Ted Adams are also EPs. The original "Locke and Key" graphic novel series is created and written by Joe Hill, Stephen King's son, who has created a world about brothers who live in a mysterious New England mansion. Gabriel Rodriguez handles the art. Dreamworks Television and K.O Paper Products are producing the TV version through K.O's deal with 20th Television. Friedman's credits also include co-writing Steven Spielberg's "War of the Worlds" for Paramount, and writing the Universal feature "The Black Dahlia." JackFetch
Way back in November, rumors began to circulate that writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci were circling a deal to make a trilogy of films based on the IDW comic book series Locke & Key. Today, The Hollywood Reporter says that this deal has finally been put into place and the feature adaptation of the comic will be coming to the big screen from Universal Studios. Kurtzman and Orci will produce along with their partner Bobby Cohen at K/O Paper Products. There's no mention of whether the pair will pen the screenplay for the film or whether a trilogy is still planned, as was originally rumored, but check back here for future updates on the project. Locke & Key was originally planned as a television series at Fox, with a pilot even being produced, but it was eventually passed without a series pick-up. The comic series, created by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, tells the story of the Locke family who travel to a place called Keyhouse, a New England mansion with fantastic keys that open up doors that give them incredible abilities. The building is also home to a hate-filled and relentless creature that will not rest until it forces open the most terrible door of them all. The series is currently three issues away from the final issue, and we suggest you start catching up now! http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/177619-locke-a-key-coming-to-the-big-screen

Dread
Yeah, that's cool. The pilot they made was great, so it'll be interesting to see what Hill does with the shot at it.

dc20willsave
Netflix has officially picked it up for 10 episodes. Seriously, 8 years and it's finally been picked up. That's some crazy production hell.
