It's still happening, and it's worse than I feared.

Deadline has the first bit of plot description we've seen for Wonder Woman, describing it as, "a reinvention of the iconic D.C. comic in which Wonder Woman -- aka Diana Prince -- is a vigilante crime fighter in L.A. but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life."

NO, DAMMIT, NO.

Um, if they wanted that, why didn't they just do Power Girl? Ya know, since that's her character.

Wonder Woman's one of those characters like the Hulk. Famous enough to know, not well-thought out enough to have a standard formula for her stories. Both are constantly reinvented as each fresh writer decides to take a new stab at a story style that works.

Spider-man is the perfect example of a character that's really easy and natural, because his stories and environment rarely change, especially since the shift to a single book.

Apparently this is the second time she was up for the role. She was up for it in the Justice League movie that never got made.

I thought Megan Gale was cast in JLA? Or was Palicki attached to one of its fifteen previous incarnations?

Either way, she definitely looks the part.

She was one of the finalists for the part.

Cary Elwes is the latest name to sign on for NBC's upcoming "Wonder Woman" television series, says a story at EW.

The series pilot is a reinvention of the iconic DC Comics title in which Wonder Woman – a/k/a Diana Prince – is a vigilante crime fighter in Los Angeles but also a successful corporate executive and a modern woman trying to balance all of the elements of her extraordinary life.

Elwes, who recently appeared in Saw: The Final Chapter and is still best known for his iconic performance in The Princess Bride, will play the CEO of Prince's company, Themyscira Industries. He joins the previously announced Adrianne Palicki in the lead, Elizabeth Hurley as the pilot's villain and supporting cast members Pedro Pascal and Tracie Thoms.
