Three-way tie today, actually.

Brave and the Bold, for taking the Silver Age insanity and putting it on screen

JLU, for some of my favorite storylines and an awesome range of characters.

Day 25 - Your Favorite Comic Book TV Show (Animated)

Most of Ducktales is based off of the old Disney Uncle Scrooge comics. The Uncle Scrooge character as well as many members of the supporting cast originated there and that's why it is so awesome.

Day 26 - Your Favourite Comic Book Film (Live Action)

dark_knight_ver4.jpg

Yes there are arguments to be made for Scott Pilgrim as the most fun, or X-men 2 or Spider-man 2 for breaking good comic book films fully into the mainstream, or even Blade for paving the way. However in the end I had to go with something that took itself a little more...seriously.

Dark Knight isn't perfect but none of these are, and frankly it's the bes combination of action, cinematography, script, performance and crucially direction. It's GREAT.

Got some catching up to do:

Day 24 - Your Favourite Comic Book TV Show (Live Action)

By a freaking country mile.

Damn fucking right it is.

Day 25 - Your Favorite Comic Book TV Show (Animated)

batman_the_animated_series-show.jpg

John Glover as The Riddler. Fuck yeah!

Day 26 - Your Favorite Comic Book Film (Live Action)

Adult:

The_Dark_Knight_5.jpg

I can sit down and watch this, and not give a fuck that it's a comic film, and watch it cause it's entertaining.

Kid:batman_forever_riddler.jpg

I fucking loved this film as a kid. Is it stupid? Yes. Is it campy as fuck? Yes. Can I watch it and still be entertained by Jim Carrey trying to channel the Frank Gorshin Riddler, yes I can. It may have it's flaws, but it is still a fun film to watch on a quiet afternoon and just watch a good, light hearted Batman film.

Day 26 - Your Favorite Comic Book Film (Live Action)

Superhero:

the-dark-knight-poster.jpg

I think The Dark Knight works both as a Comic Book movie and a crime movie. Just so fucking good.

Non-Superhero (Non-Action):

ghost_world1.gif

I love Ghost World the movie for all the reasons I love Ghost World the comic. Plus, it's Scarlett Johanson's first big movie.

Non-Superhero (Action):

All the reasons stated before. Just... awesome.

Day 28 - The Most Obscure Comic You Own

Got it in a £1 grab bag years ago. Utterly bizarre and completely heartbreaking little one issue spin-off of Scud.

Day 29 - Your Favourite Comic As a Kid

244-1.jpg

Transformers UK was the reason that the franchise holds any more sway over me than the coolness of the toys. Furman and Senior in particular made for some superb stories and great artwork. I had a near complete run after inheriting my brothers issues (I picked up where he left off) but my mum told me to get rid of most of them. Complete tragedy in hindsight (and of course horrific to me at the time as well).

Still some great stories in there that hold up, and whilst the continuity is amazingly confusing because it also attempts to bring in elements from the movie, from the US comic once they got combined as well as the cartoons, they do a really fine job all things considered. I can still quite happily read these.

I never did finish my list.

Day 27 - Your Favorite Comic Book Film (Animated)

batman-under-the-red-hood.jpg

My favourite storyline adapted by the writer, dammit if I didn't enjoy it, and it's more realistic explanation for Jason coming back to life.

Day 28 - The Most Obscure Comic You Own

I don't own obscure comics, I tend to stay mainstream, but I guess this:

Day 30 - Your Favourite Ongoing Comic This Time Last Year

Sorry about posting all of these on one day, but I left my list without an ending.
