JackFetch
10 years ago CBS was known as the old people's network. CBS continues to find widespread success when it comes to TV ratings, in a way that no doubt inspires a lot of jealousy among their competitors. To illustrate, today CBS confirmed that 18 of their shows are renewed in one fell swoop, as the network continues to boast stability that's hard not to be impressed by. Among new series, Person of Interest and 2 Broke Girls got their expected renewals, after very successful first seasons. Also now officially renewed are Mike & Molly, NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles, Hawaii Five-0, Criminal Minds, CSI, The Mentalist, Blue Bloods, The Good Wife, The Amazing Race, Undercover Boss, 60 Minutes and 48 Hours Mystery. They join the already-renewed How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory and Survivor. Attempting to get a jump on the questions raised by the lack of Two and a Half Men (still a huge hit), CBS notes they are in preliminary discussions with Warner Bros. about "future seasons" of the show. No doubt all the participants want it back – the big sticking point will be getting Ashton Kutcher to commit to more seasons, as his initial contract was just for one year. Notable by their absence on the list of renewals are CSI: New York and CSI: Miami, both of which are in a more precarious position this year, after dwindling ratings. Also not accounted for are "bubble" series A Gifted Man, Unforgettable, Rob and Rules of Engagement. Few expect A Gifted Man or Unforgettable to be back, but Rob and Rules still have a shot, as CBS works on their pilots for next season. http://tv.ign.com/ar..._source=twitter
